try googling 'frank mcgahon', i got a few pretty good mixes by him showcasing music from these eras

search "eletrofying mojo" and "the wizard" (aka techno god jeff mills) for detroit wjlb djs that did some sick electro funk mixes during the 80s.

For Brit soul funk heads old enough to remember, try googling for ex Capital radio's legend that is DJ Robbie Vincent. THE premier London soul/funk/disco don of the 70's/80's.
Should be a fair few archive shows on the web. I'd up some of my taped shows but the quality isn't really up to par....

i've tried him, i was listening to one of the autonomic podcasts and some old tunes came on in the influences section. my mum started dancing around saying i need to check out robbie vincent. didn't have much luck but i will try again.
