I've had one for about 3 years now. Theyre pretty jokes, I used to use it in my band, I'd program patches and set it up so it would play in time with the whole band, as I played bass and couldnt do it all at once...

Theyre alot of fun to get down basic ideas but production wise they have their limits, espicially with the drums which sound pretty weak most of the time. I still jam around on it though :D

my first set up was three of the old ones the green sampler red drum machine and blue synth. such fun lil boxes! i sold the drum machine and synth when i got monitors years ago and recently sold the sampler. i want the old red drum one back it made some punchy drums.

ive always wanted one...probably gonna get one soon
im not to fond of the sound it has when people use it as a main song building platform tho..

i think they still retain alot of utility if you complement your project with it instead of trying to build a full track on the sequencers

it would be so spot on to load up a shit ton of high hats and blips and knock out a 3 min progression to fit on top of the track you already have

I am going to get one some day when I have cash...So maybe never . I'm going for a mostly hardware setup and any or all of the tribes are welcome in my studio. For playing live it looks like so much damn fun.

exactly this basically, but yeh they are so much fun, espicially when you have a synth to go with it too

Used to travel a lot, and could fit both the a and the r into a flight case pretty easily. The were fun, a little difficult to work with in production. If I recal, all pots sent nrsp's rather than cc info, pain in the ass.

Don't know about the new ones, just wish I had em!

I use the SX, used it for nicking some of the drums, mangling samples (which is a whole lot easier hands on) and resampling for the lush valve sounds. Also a great DJing tool if you load up some ambients u can really stretch out mixes. The reverbs on it are suprisingly sick, I should use it alot more really

I have to get off this forum, but really fast... my buddy has done some amazing shit with the mk11 sampler, that shit is mean, he recently got an esx and I recently bought a es1 on ebay, it has a couple problems with it and i was actually thinking about coming on here and asking a few thigs before paying money for some dude to tell me its broken.

Got an EMX-1 myself as well as KP3 and Korg R3, really nice to jam out with but personally I wouldn't produce a song with it but again nice to make some quick stuff on it.

i use an emx ... its real fun like alot of people have said, easy to program and would def be a good piece of gear to learn on and continue using for certain elements of a tune. its possible to make whole tracks on it esp if you are tracking it out to a computer or (more importantly) have some other gear to incorporate. most of the tracks on my soundcloud are made off the electribe and sp 404 sampler. it also makes a pretty ok midi controller if you dont have one, you can assign all the knobs and pads and every key on 8 octaves , you cant assign the slider tho :( (to my knowledge)

Ehhh, I've got the iPad app, which is a fully functional replica. IMO it's a fun toy, but it's pretty limited.

I had an ES1 a few years ago and sold it for £70 out of desperation for money, so wish I hadn't, I had it loaded with classic drum machines kits and it was fun making beats the old school way on the step sequencer.

Spent a couple of hours jamming out some beats on someone's ER-1 last night and I'm now completely obsessed with getting one of my own
