Filter VST

What is a decent filter for not too much money or free? FL's Fruity Filter is well...fruity. No numeric values?

Yeah I saw it, however I just need a simple HP/LP filter with values expressed in hZ

Whats up with FLs plugins?
Bro, they are actually quite good
I have started getting some good results out of the first Reveb unit in FL too.
Dist, filters, eq, waveshaper, limter and compressor are all good I think now in FL. I have been playing with them for a couple of years tho

Dist, filters, eq, waveshaper, limter and compressor are all good I think now in FL. I have been playing with them for a couple of years tho
love that 1st reverb and the delay bank. although i do have others

oligarc filter is awesome and what you pay for it goes for a good cause.

Fabfilter do a HP/LP/BP filter, with an image and numbers, which is quite useful, but it costs monies...

probably nothing wrong with those. still, it's like owning a les paul, strat and telecaster guitars. they're probably all good guitars, but it's sweet when you have a choice.

I use to be the same. I assumed the plugins that come free with whatever DAW I am using were shit. I assumed getting the most expensive or ones with the most flashing buttons on would help me make some bangers.
Best thing I ever did was stick to the basic toys and learn to use them.

well a similar thing happened to me. i'm loving the freeware stuff, always had a dream of making great tunes using only freeware since so much of it is avaiable, and payware stuff is often so overpriced if you compare the difference in quality.
anyway, back when i started getting into production, i was on a mission to collect every piece of cool-looking freeware pluggie in existence, all the neat little compressors, delays, filters and so on, grouped nicely in different folders and ready to use. then i figured out that there's no point in having twelve compressors if i have no clue about their differencies since i never really learned how to use a compressor properly. so then i cut my tool list to the essentials, read all the manuals and experimented a lot.
and now i can really appreciate the tiny differences between these pluggies so i'm back to testing all that is available once again. or it is simply the gearslut inside me winning the battle against common sense.
