as the title suggests.

can you make a living from dubstep? as in have it as a sole income. No other jobs/ benefits/ shotting included.

Its still in its infancy, just of curiousity how profitable do you think it is/ will be ?

its could..maybe.. just about be possible depending on how much u need to earn to survive.

most income would be from bookings ( if your getting em of course ) and obviously down to how much you charge, with record sales as a side income.

still living with your parents would help of course..

I think you could probably live quite well as long as you lived somewhere cheap, like Ethiopia maybe.

Luckily I make £6000 a week doing dodgy eurotrance knockoff's of 80's soft rock twattage so I can afford to lose money on dubstep.

That last bits a lie by the way, although it's not a bad idea. Maybe get some annoying amphibian to sing some shite over the top too.

the more producers are free from the constraints of having to sell loads the more they can take risks and the better the music is. all about having the side job i say and making the best, most uninhibited music you truly feel!

Depends on how frugal you are.

Doubt u can make a decent long term living with pension etc off music.

Unless your a house dj/producer.

All about having the bigboy job and doing it on the side - Hotflush stylee

;-)

Hey, Pimpin ain't easy (dawg.).

I would suggest that the best way to make money from dubstep is to buy up DMZ releases en masse and then hock them on eBay for £50 a shot.
