to many flashing lights and buttons for me ruin it all. Looks like I will need to go uni to work out how to full use it.
Give me a Rane mixer anyway.

while i tottaly agree this mixer is more of an instrument than a mixer - and thus it should be treated so,
the possibilitys for live performance are literally unlimited, its crazy.

This is nutty. Pioneer seems to be trying to merge the benefits of midi and software with live decks and a mixer.
And that guy has the skinniest elbows I've ever seen

it's like that god awful black behringer mixer, with the added potential of accidentally launching the space shuttle in the mix.
to be fair, this could be a fantastic tool in the hands of someone with enough moxie to sculpt his/her ideas into it. Otherwise-- it could put a lot of VJ's out of business.

If you heard someone playing out with this, you'd think every track he was playing was some sort of remix.

That system looks like a supercar - incredibly powerful, hugely impractical and way out of anyone's reach, but an extraordinary bit of kit that represents a pinnacle of design

not all of it is effects, alot of it is new ways to mix.
for example the 7 band cross fader thing where you can mix frequencies.... how sick is that. you can get your mixes absolutly DIALLED with that, imagine how smooth transistions would be!

Not something I can see myself using any time soon, but it's interesting to see that hardware's taking the direction I, and lots of people (probably) expected it to go to: one big ol' machine and it's completely up to you to decide what you want it to be. Be it effect mixer, MIDI controller, whatever.
I think it's a healthy step. Not really all tooo practical in its current form (though that mutli-band fader is rad), but it's a good step in the right direction. If they can keep all the functions but simplify it significantly, they would be on to something.
