Deep Electro?

I'm not as familiar with this stuff as I wish I was.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

The stuff that people like Silicon Scally and Wee DJs and Radioactive Man occasionally release.

Some of this stuff actually reminds of me of D1 and Loefah a bit.

That Silicon Scally remix of Swag's Drum Hydraulics is kind of what I'm thinking of, these techy sounding synth pulses.

Spinetingling, IMHO.

One that always gets me is Sillicon Scallys remix of Luke Slater - I Can Complete You.

I Like Electro.

that song is bad ass. Silicon Scally is Carl Finlow and Voice Stealer and he has a few more names, too.

Try "All Electric House" by voice stealer.

Ra X
V.O.L.S.O.C.
Almost anything off of Andrea Parker's "Touchin' Bass" label

Eggfooyoung
Secret Frequency Crew
Bitstream
Anthony Rother when he wants to make something good

Otherwise, check everything by Gerald Donald and his projects. You can't go wrong there, really.

hmmm...... wee djs.....
been hooked on his stuff for a long time, but hardly found anything to match his early Gassoline releases, unfortunately his last releases were somewhat dissapointing for me.... although the parts of his new LP he played at the Breezeblock a few weeks/months ago were brilliant again I thought....

As far as other stuff goes that hasn t been mentioned yet -
Ultradyne, their live sets & recordings are absolutely mindblowing, like Drexciya tripping on thorn apple... check Sacrifice 101, Radar Blips or Lardosen Search Squad for some prime examples....
oh...my..gosh... just checked their myspace (Lardosen.... is up there), they re coming to London & Leipzig in April.... that ll be evil....

then Errorsmith / Erik and Fiedel has been doing some really neat electro as/on MMM
And if you like Wee Djs, Airlock & Airlocktronics are worth checking out
Oh....and nearly forgot the grand masters of dark miami bass stuff, Dynamix II with all their aliases...

Arpanet isn't one of the guys from Drexciya. It was rumoured to be, but since James Stinson has been dead for four years I think we can assume the rumour was wrong (of course you could be saying Gerald Donald is the guy from Drexciya but it was never confirmed he was in Drexciya, oh the mystery :D ).

Ah right, my mate tells me Gerald Donald was defo in Drexciya, forget everything I just said!

I don't rate Arpanet up there with Drexciya or the other side projects.

Thanks for the tip....
but the strange thing about wee djs & my perception is the dissonant squeaks he puts in most of his tracks. There s some, like the old Gassoline (first 5) & Scsi releases, where those dissonants tickle me in a good way, for some strange reason in the later releases the dissonant squeaks feel sort of painful, and not in a good way if that s even possible with painful....

The only release I bought of him in the last 1,5 years was the Wee Dissolve ep on SCSI. Looking forward to any Combat release though with the hope for a gem for me ;)

Thanks to everyone who gave me some tips.

My new mix in the Audio section uses some Mariel Ito and Si Begg beats.

Here's a link if anyone's interested.

Just bought the Arpanet one on Rephlex and its shit.

Drexciya and Lab Rat XL was both of them, but Donald did Der Zyklus, Dopplereffekt and Heinrich Mueller, all of which are better than Arpanet.

The lack of Stinson's input is definately noticable tho.
