I link three computers togehter via MIDI. The reason is none of my computers is powerful enough to do all the tasks I need. One computer runs Cubase and Live, another runs NI Battery and a third (very old iBook) runs NI Dynamo. When I go live a second computer linked via MIDI can runs my video software.

I have a grip of friends doing similar things chaining computers through midi to offload certain processes or control specific events.
