Well I read in Future Music that Hard To Find Recordshave opened up a store in Birmingham and I also saw another shop opening up North and it seems the more I check for shops in London the more they seem to close down.
Help me compile a list? There isn't even soundcontrol anymore, is there?

Safe!
Why have those shops gotta be in the pissiest places?
I facking hate cClapham and Acton.
Barnet and Romford are the middle of nowhere as far as I am concerned haha

Probably a good thing its not local, just walking past the store makes you want to get your plastic out

Funky Junk:

Just got my MLA-3 there
'Odd' customer service, good in some ways, appalling in others. I think that's fairly standard in music shops though... Nerds don't naturally do good customer service - they are too busy thinking about/playing with gear

HTFR have some of the worst customer service in the business. Avoid if at all possible.
(Unfortunately I left Birmingham about 5 years ago so have nothing else to contribute to the discussion.)
EDIT: is there still a Digital Village in the Jewellery Quarter?

Can vouch for this one, great shop, got all my equip from there, they'll even do you some very nice deals if you buy a few things at the same time.
I got a pair of rocket6's, a Saffire LE sound card.. and then practicaly got a Novation midi controller for free. And some samples for good measure.
The guys that work there are sound.

Nice blokes in here if it's the sort of thing you're looking for.
Also worth a trip up Denmark Street if you haven't already!
