Wow that's a lot of diversity. I have a Roland TD20SBK & Alesis DM5 Pro-kit with surge cymbals blend. Same pedals you have. I like the face that i can go glitch mob on my set's ass.

this is what my set used to look like....I changed it up a lot...I love my current set up..

You have to turn completely to do a full drum fill >.< unless all you ever do is tom build ups. otherwise, looks like a freaking playground. I have a couple rubber triggers and a couple surge cymbals (real cymbals with acrylic coating to deaden sound)

NICE SETUP! i don't even have half that much stuff! but i have those same double pedals! love iron cobras! and i dont think you would have to turn around completely... maybe a little ways but once you are used to hitting things in a certain spot you don't even have to think or try to hit them, you do it without thinking.

it looks literally like a 90 degree turn to hit the floor tom tho.

from the looks of it you would only need to rotate your torso slightly and just reach with your arms. idk i have long arms haha

i have a pair of iron cobra doubles. "Ahead" aluminum drum sticks (Rock size) they've never broken in years for obvious reasons lol i love em

all zildjian cymbals. got 14 inch rock hi hats. 14 inch rock fast crash. then 16 inch rock crash. then 18 inch chrash/ride. then a 20 or 22 inch rock ride? i forgot which size it is. regular snare and toms aaaaaand that's about it. i need to get a china and some other stuff. wish mine was as elaborate as yours but im tight on money

I am not a drummer but i am big fan of drummers .I like the music from my child hood and I can few instruments but not drums.i have tried to learn it but am not able to play it.

Have any of you bass players ever learned to play drums? I’ve been : thinking that it would help my time, ability to think rhythmically, and : general booty-shaking abilities, even if only learned at a rudimentary : level. Bass is part of the rhythm section, after all. : Anyone experienced in this sort of thing? Was it worth the effort? Yes I play both bass and drums.

im a drummer, been playing for almost 15 years now . i love jungle and jazz, hip hop and reggae, death metal and almost everything in between . i also have iron cobra double bass pedals . ill post a pic of my setup as soon as i upload it

in my oppinion. the 2 MAIN instruments that you SHOULD know how to play to make VERY GOOD electornic dance music are the drums, and the piano. im sure it helps to know guitar and possibly some others but i think you can work your way around everything if you know drums and piano.

sadly i only know the drums at this point but i hope to learn piano soon and one day acoustic guitar just because i love it. i wish i had an instrument i could play wherever and have it be quiet lol

being able to play the drums doesn't just give you an advantage to making your drum patterns, but an advantage to making all patterns that arn't "melodies"

im able to come up with any rhythym possible and the possibilities are endless. it allows me to make basslines as well because those usually arn't melodies. i CAN come up with pretty good melodies though, just not crazy solo's.

if you sit back far enough and have good technique you don't have to 'turn around' to do fills

I play drums. A four-piece Yamaha Stage Custom kit with a kick made out of a PDP floor tom. A hi-hat, and two ride cymbals. That's it. I feel that if I can't perfect a four-piece, what's the point in even trying to expand beyond it? I've been playing this way for nearly a decade now and haven't even considering adding an extra tom yet.

what's the point in expanding? to have more sounds. bigger fills. gives you a better musical ability and coordination when you are reaching to hit a bunch of different cymbals and toms. it looks cooler lol. it's more fun. i don't know, i don't think i've ever heard anyone that didn't want a bigger kit... but if it's what you like then it's all good

you don't even have a single crash?!?! that's upsetting lol
do you have double pedals atleast?

(it doubles your bass hitting opportunities lol)

Nah, I use my smaller ride as a crash sometimes, but I don't really want bigger fills or more sounds. I still haven't gotten all the sounds out of my four-piece! No double pedals either - I don't see a use for two pedals until I can master one. I'm pretty fast with my right foot, but I still could be faster and more precise. I won't think about a double pedal until I've straight-up mastered the single pedal. I don't really play the kind of music that calls for a double pedal anyway.

Obviously, if you like to play with more drums, that's your view of things and I won't contest that. I will, however, contest the idea that it gives better musical ability; my kit is chromatically-tuned, allowing me to solo on any scale by modifying the tension of the drum head with my hands/elbows/sticks.

Im sure all MIDI drummer/piano players would agree with you.
