Need help with sample

Hello! I have a weird problem. I was making a track and once the intro was done, I exported it as a WAV file. Recently I've discovered and quite liked it, but the problem is that I hadn't saved the live set itself, and I can't remember at all what kind of synth and settings I used. And since I wanna actually get it done, the only way is to sample the intro synth, which isn't a problem, but I want to sort of make a pad layer out of it, not just a 2 second sample that keeps on looping, if that makes sense. So is there any way to sort of blend the samples together to create a single solid pad layer? Maybe, you know, just kinda stretch the sample for as long as I'd need it. How do I do that? Thanks!

a sampler and select the point in the waveform where it starts repeating itself like a single cycle waveform in a synth

Loop the sustainy bit in your sampler, with a bit of crossfade on the loop. Modulate the loop length and start point very slightly and quite slowly (1Hz or so) to prevent it sounding static.

Watch the Robert Henke video on interesting techniques with Ableton Sampler; dude knows where it's at.

EDIT: ok, so he uses sampler to make a door creaking noise out of a totally unrelated sample, but the loop modulation is the same technique....
