a. it's illegal for oneGRAYSKALE wrote:Why does everybody always get so sketchy about people downloading software illegally? I got a legit copy of Ableton Suite, but only cause it was a present off my parents, not everybody can afford the expense stuff, i know I personally cant, dont see any of the DAW companies going out of buisness because of it, what's the problem?
Fair points - and Im not condoning illegal downloading in anyway - but whilst i get that its illegal so is morally wrong, by the same token I bet plenty of people against illegal downloading dont mind smoking heafy amounts of ganja and popping copious amounts of pills at the weeksends and that's illegal - defo agree with point e though probably not a good idea to be so public about it!deadly habit wrote:

b. it hurts the developers and only causes more un-necessary time spent to add in piracy production and time that could be used to code new tools and optimizations into copy protection and gay lil usb dongles
c. there is always a freeware alternative or something cheaper you can afford if you look. you don't NEED that batch of plugins that cost 1000$
d. it puts the forum in a compromising position with developers and lawsuits (refer to a)
e. if you're going to do something illegal do some research (google anyone) and don't publicly announce it or expect support (especially from people who spent hard earned cash on it)
Amoking weed, and popping pills, only hurts yourself. This is peoples hard work and salaries your stealing. Big difference.GRAYSKALE wrote:Fair points - and Im not condoning illegal downloading in anyway - but whilst i get that its illegal so is morally wrong, by the same token I bet plenty of people against illegal downloading dont mind smoking heafy amounts of ganja and popping copious amounts of pills at the weeksends and that's illegal - defo agree with point e though probably not a good idea to be so public about it!deadly habit wrote:
