Serato ITCH, NS7, BPM..

Got the NS7 today and have been playing.. On one of the songs I was mixing, I noticed the software stopped showing the BPM.. It was displayed there, but now its gone.. I fucked around with the "tap" key and now I cant get the two songs matched right.. Any idea why it would stop showing the correct, original BPM? Or how to get it back?

We have one of these at work and I run into that problem all the time.
All I do is rescan the song and it displays the original BPM. Or just tap until you get the original BPM.

Problem is I don't remem the original BPM.. How do you get it to rescan? Everytime I load the song to the deck, it just keeps the bad BPM setting.. I can't figure out how to get it to re-calculate..

I would go ask on their forum or for their tech support. I don't think a lot of people have those things. And if they do, what is your address?

Unplug the ns7 from usb and the ANAYLZE files will come up and let it do that.

This
You can actually drag songs onto the analyze files button, so any songs that dont have the bpm tagged just drag them onto the button.
Peace

That seemed to do the trick.. Thanks a bunch to everyone..
Any way to do that with the hardware still plugged in to USB? Seems a little odd they would take away the ability to analyze while connected to USB.

I spoke with Numark tech support (Serato doesnt deal with ITCH software..)
The tech basically said your fucked if that happens.. Here are Numarks solutions..
1. TAP the beat in using the tap function (PITA)
2. Unplug the USB from the NS7, Re-analyze using the "Analyze Files" button on a per song basis. (Drag n Drop)
3. Delete the database file in the root directory, rescan all 15,000 MP3's (takes ~ 20 hours on a new MacBook Pro)
Sure as fuck can't do option 2 and 3 while playing a show or at a job, so TAP away... Or when home practicing, type the BPM in the comments field of the track. Of course I suppose you can do it the OG way by pitching until its matched.. I'm not so good at that yet..

Fly on over to NY and you can play with it.. haha..
I just got it yesterday, but I played around with a little scratch here and there.. I'm shitty at it yet, but improvement will be coming quickly.
I spent most of the day yesterday getting familiar with ITCH and the functions. I tell ya, the hardware is AWESOME. solid as a rock, tons of great features too. The software controls work flawlessly...

No big deal really.. Inconvenient, sure, but if this is the biggest issue, I'll live.. It's very easy to comment the track with the BPM and once you know that, setting it is a piece of cake. It's a software problem really, has nothing to do with the hardware.. Everything else thus far is flawless..
