was ridiculous last night... over 140,000 people!

Must say it was surreal seeing Excision and Shy Fx on the same stage! I still havent gone to sleep and still have to go do it all again tonight! Almost fell asleep on the ferris wheel.

any other LA ninjas have some stories?

it was nuts!

Shy FX, Excision, Evol Intent, 12th Planet, and more. the "Bass pod" was really the only one good lineup. No way in hell I'm going to see Armin van Buuren or Steve Aoki.

Honestly, as soon as my rolls kicked in I wanted very little to do with the bass pod. Bullshit moshing to drum and bass and then ALOT of agro dubstep. I dunno, I'm down for a hardcore dubstep song every once in a while in a set but I just couldn't handle it. I saw about half of 12th planets set and I loved it, but 12 planet always brings a good balanced set.

I was mostly bouncing between the difference house stages, I've found when out raving dubstep isn't really the shit I reach for, just different vibes I guess.

Other than the bass pod though I had an amazing time. Met a ton of awesome people and danced the night away, I'm still SUUUPER sore and I only went on friday. If anyone ran into me I'm scooby snax, hope to see some of you next year :t:

i was there too, and yeah, shy fx definitely was a no - show. was well pumped to see him too, but loved the longer 12th planet set because of it anyways. as a dnbhead, i had no problem staying at the basspod all day saturday as well, thought dirtyphonics, ltj bukem, friction, and andy c killed it. as much as i love logistics, was a bit bummed by his performance. always loved cruisin' around to the oter stages as well, but basspod was home bass (pun intended) for me.

didn't catch many other sets to be honest, except mau5 and fedde le grand, what else was good?

Where's the plur man? Those assholes smashed a bunch of people when the fences came down, and a bunch of people collapsed tents in on vendors as they climbed in on the "roof". It was fun but massives can be such a burn like that.

yeh, sad stuff...

all these people moaning about "accountability" need to try and manage a rave of that magnitude themselves, and see how well they can do it...

ecstasy is a pretty safe drug (in moderation, of course) but you have to know how to handle it and not avoid/chug water.. she was probably on an MAOI or the pill had some fucked up shit in it or something

MAOI isnt really big in the US tbh.

Chick was probably 15 eating pills and overheated. Pretty standard.

The one in Dallas was balls hot but had plenty of areas to cool down, and the setup was quite a bit more controlled (probably attributed to it being about a tenth of the size). LA has enough legit venues for shows, not sure what a 'task force' is going to accomplish.

news quoted her friends as saying that she chugged a bunch of water and then passed out and hit her head...

and i didnt really mean MAOI as recreation... MAOI's are prescribed quite often in the US for depression, and people who take MAOI's rarely know the consequences of taking other drugs while taking MAOI's... unlikely but still possible.

more likely that she messed with her sodium/potassium pumps by dehydrating then chugging water in the sun..

as bad as any death is, i think that one death out of 140,000+ ravers over two days is still an accomplishment, despite all the gate-rushing injuries, etc...

still biggup to the hosts/sponsors/security, it must have been a nightmare to keep that many counter-culture Angelenos (and travelers) in line

agreed on the MAOI front. I thought you meant abusing them for fun.

Most america is medicated at some point in their day and most are unaware of how drugs react with each other
