I'm looking on getting one of the 2, I see a lot of people using the EMX but see some using the ESX for dubstep beats. Anyone shed some light on the best one to go for.

Thanks

It depends what you want to do.

The EMX is a drum synthesizer, while the ESX is a sampler.

Mainly using it for creating the drums. I got the MPC's and Maschine for sampling but I love the sound that comes out of the electribe when making drum loops.

I think I'd be going for EMX then.

If you're not buying it to have a dedicated piece of hardware with unique hardware benefits, in my opinion, it is a waste to buy this thing. VERY limited drum sounds. The drums on this thing are just samples, and there are very few of them.

There are good reasons to get this thing, I want one, but getting this for dedicated drums, I don't think is one of them.

You have MPC's and a maschine and you want an electribe for drums? :u: You don't deserve your hardware.

The electribes are fun, but I think the only one that is worth keeping is the sampler. Stay away from the original electribes... those little matching square boxes (A/M/R etc). Those are fun to play with, but not very good. They are also picky when it comes to MIDI implementation. The newer ones with the vacuum tubes are pretty nice, but like I said I think the sampler is the only one worth buying IMO.
