Hey guys,
ive been listening to dubstep for a few months now and have really grown a strong intrest in it.
i want to start making my own original songs, but i have no idea what programs would be best for a beginner like myself.
ive used garageband along with loops that ive found on the internet to make 1 song so far, which i like alot, but as i said i want original.
if you guys could recommend the best and easiest program to get accustomed to for a new kid starting out it would be much appreciated.

Read the stickies before posting questions

id suggest maybe looking through tutorials on youtube of all the various DAWS and see which wud most fit your workflow. Its really based on how u work and wats easiest FOR YOU.

At the top of this forum there are some stickies that will answer all of your questions as well as directions to the proper place to post your own tunes...though you might want to start using a proper program before you do so or you might get flamed

Because I'm a kind soul I'm even gonna make things extra easy for you and write a list of all the most popular 'DAWs' which is the type of program you will need to get started. (There are many many tutorials and tips on this site for all of them so once you choose whichever you feel most suits you please don't make another thread asking how to use it!)

Ableton, Reason, Cubase, Renoise, Logic, Acid, FL Studio, Reaper (this is free and still quite powerful, search on these forums and somewhere future untold posted a zip file with lots of free vsts and the like along with reaper)

Hopefully I havn't missed any and that will give you enough information to go off and start producing, under no circumstances make another thread like this asking for such basic information because it spams up the forum and we get asked the same questions over and over and over and over and basically it just gets really annoying I'm only writing such a long response because it's 9:43, im fucking bored and I shouldn't be awake yet...

just demo different daws and choose the one which suites you best

Yo man... If your already using garage band, I can recommend its bigger and better (yet more complex) brother Logic Studio. You can open your garageband projects in logic once you feel you need to step up.

Other candidates for learning to make music fast are reason and fruity loops (i dont use FL but from my experience a lot of new producers love it but is PC only).
Theres a whole production guide at the top of this forum ^^^ you should hit that up. its an amazing wealth of knowledge!

if you're using garageband, stick with garageband until it's not doing what you need it to do.

lol i was just shouting out my daw but i actually didnt kno garage was only for mac

haha.. Its a $200+ program.. that the makers are willing to let people try(FULL version) for free.. and if you like it you only have to pay $60. You're only obligated to pay full price of you make $20,000 from using their software. Sounds like some nice/fair people to me!

thanks guys, so far ive been messing around with Renoise and i like it a lot, but i still wanna try more programs before i settle on 1. You guys have been really helpful
