boy... what can i say? buffet... what a FANTASTIC idea. now granted, chinese buffet is usually GRIM. like 3 pound all u can eat aint gunna be good is it? and they usually only have a few things... rice, chow mein, singapore noodles, sweet n sour chicken, something beefy... chicken wings maybe. found this one on berwick street tho... it's a bit more expensive: 3.60 for small takeaway box and large box and eat in with a plate is 6 quid or something. but they got a good selection and it doesn't make me feel ill after, which is always good.
AND there's this on in manchester right... not sure where it is cos i've only been up there once. my cigarette took me to it so i think it's near the village. anyway it's HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. and has SOOOOOOO much soolecshun and truesay it's 8 pound but it's like LOOOOADS. i was amazed.

I think your right about paying a bit extra for better grub.
I went to well dodgy one in soho once. mr foo or mr wong? Cant rememebr, anyway, it was £4 quid
I swear though, the 'bbq chicken' was more like deep fried rat. Felt sick while i was eating the food but was absolutely starving half an hour later..? wtf is that all about (msg is it?)
thanks for the advice on the berwick st one tho still

it's berwick street RIGHT off oxford street, not up into soho. the china town ones are sooooooo rags.
yeh that feeling hungry after thing is sodium... something glutenate. it's this addictive thing they put in foods like mc donalds and chinese and pringles that makes u want more after you've eaten. tricks you into thinking you're still hungry.

Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer which - although it possesses no calories of its own - is tremendously insulimic. You feel hungry again shortly after having eaten food containing it, because your blood sugar crashes.

yeah, thats MSG (monosodium glutamate)..it's a flavour enhancer, hence you tend to get it at the cheaper places..you can see it in these huge bags in chinese supermarkets..
best chinese in manchester is this place:
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/magazine ... 29,00.html
avoid the weird stuff though - i nearly ralphed chewing on some unknown fatty thing..
