Anyone try it? Playing around with it just now

I use Acid 7, is express just a 10 track limitation of it? I like Acid, it's the only thing I know inside out, I love the loop painting abilities, it's so quick to throw something together.

10 tracks limitation, also i'm not sure it supports vst, more like a demo version of acid to lure you into buying it

acid was the first program i used before i knew what the hell i was doing. it must have some kind of potential if rusko is able to use it to actually make his tracks, but damned if i was able to find that potential. hard to beat FL for the price - don't see any immediate reason to use acid (the program, that is).

Go Pro..I believe Ruko at the time of the Masterlcass was using version 5.. Version 7 abosutely smashes that. Geez!!! 10 tracks man that might fit my drums alone.. I've been rocking Acid Pro since version 3 love it, its very stable. I've use Pro Tools, Ableton (still do Version . I just love that I can run a high azz track count will all kinds of effects, automations, & VSTs it doesn't tax my CPU like other DAWs have/do..Im currrently running version 7 on a Windows 7 pro 64bit system.

I used Acid from version 1 all the way up to version 7, and then discovered Reaper... and now I want to kick Sony in the balls for wasting so much of my time. I'll never go back. To me, Reaper is like how Acid should've been.

But that's just an opinion.

i just got sony acid pro, and im compeletely new to the software, i want to make dubstep, and though its alot to ask i was wondering if anyone would help me out and tell me how to use it. or tell me what else i need to start makin dubstep. i want to know how to make wobbles but am very confused. whats the dub forum got to say?

i meant dubstep, i was just shortening it. i just need help understanding sony acid pro, and need to be pointed in the direction of how to make dubstep with it and to know what else i need, i appreciate any input you guys got, im completely new but very passionate about the music

i will read this, but i was wondering if anyone knew about tutorials for sony acid pro 7, and also i just want advice using it from you guys

all you Reaper users seem like you want to rule the world...

reaper's good, except for that fucking piano roll...... anyone know how to make it stop playing notes whilst your putting in midi, sends me mad when im trying to do chords.......

I think for the 'conventional' style sequencers, reaper is the way to go. much cheaper than cubase, pro tools or logic, bit more intuitive in some places.

Ableton is class aswell, but is incredibly overpriced compared to reaper if you don't use the live session view. the warping things you can do on it are sick though but you can do that just as easily in repaer by chopping up your sample and timestretching/dragging.

renoise, best tracker out there no doubt, even cheaper than reaper and can do everything that the other daws can do (it has fucking vst support ok )

and then FL has the best piano roll out of the lot, easy to construct loops and a tune going, the routing capabilities are massive but does take some getting used to, but I think the work flow can be quite different form reaper's so i wouldn't put it those other conventional sequencers.

and then you got reason which is great if you want a low cpu software and don't have to worry about external software (although incredibly overpriced imo)

I don't even know why i wrote all that crap out, just try the demos and youll see that they are worth having of over Acid.

I agree with this to an extent but don't let that put you off if Acid is more suited to your workflow. Jack Sparrow and Rusko made some of my favourite songs from the 2006-07 era and they were using Acid 5 or 6 at the time. Trentmoller used Acid 5 for 'The Last Resort'. It is comparatively lacking to some of the big boy DAWs now and the MIDI is weak sauce as Nowaysj pointed out in another thread but it wont stop you from writing great tunes if you have the talent.

I was a Acid Pro user too at the beginning like 4 months ago but switched to mac because my PC died. I'm on Logic now and I don't really see any major difference between the two software, both have really cool work flow and similar interface, they have their differences for sure but I'm using Logic the same way I would use Acid pro dragging audio things, modifying all the tracks with effects when needed (which are probably better quality than acid pro) and etc.
