2 fl8 questions (lfo related, and envelope related)

Hey all, i'm new to the forum, go llama, or whatever.
I have two fairly specific questions. I've been producing Dubstep for a while, with a fair amount of success, there are two things i would like to inquire about.
I can make a wobble that sounds fairly hard, but i find the lfo setting on most programs to be a bit lacking, partiularly, the oscilation shape control. in fl's oscilate controls, for example, i can make the wave, but i can't control the actual shape of the wave (beyond being able to change height, etc).
eg, the wave is shaped like this
/\
/ \
/ \
/ \
but, say i want more of a ramp in;(excuse the bad img)
/\
/ \
| \
/ \
..i'm out of luck. i have massive as well, and it offers more presets, but no way to directly draw the oscilation (or i'm not well versed in doing so)
is there a program (vst, etc) that allows design of the oscilation wave shape similar to how sytrus allows you to design envelope?
secondly, how do you "make an envelope control the cutoff frequency". This may actually be the solution to the first question as well(or what i'm going for). I found a sytrus instrument (depthcore, specifically) that has an envelope, that appears to be controlling either the volume or the lfo, yet i am not able to replicate this effect on any program (i probably just need more practice in linking patches.)
Even outside of sytrus, using the Fruity envelope controller, I am s.o.l, i will design an envelope that bears the appearance of what i want, then take it to the fruity fast lp, right click the cutoff knob (like i would to oscillate noramlly), and click, "link to controller", select my envelope.. and nothing. it doesn't control my note in any way.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
P.S sorry for the great length of this post

don't worry about a long post. Long post good. Funnily enough I have just discovered the FL envelope controller after years and years of using FL. And I think it is the answer to your problems. Yes it pretty much allows you to apply Sytrus-like envelopes to any parameter.
It sounds like you have done all the right things as far as hooking up the LP cutoff to one of the Articulators. One thing you may not have done to enable the envelope is to select the articulator that you have chosen, and then in the keyboard in the top right choose the key that will trigger than envelope. So say you choose C5, in the piano roll for the Controller you need to have C5 playing at the same time that the Bass note (which can be any note) is playing. C5 is the trigger key for that envelope.
So obsiously you'd make different trigger keys for each Articulator, and have those trigger keys play in the Controller Piano Roll in the order that you want the different envelopes to trigger.
Does this fix the problem?

I'm at work right now, but just reading it i'm assuming that was the one intricate detail i was missing to make this work, i'll post the confirmation a bit later, but thankyou very much!

I still havn't got the hang of that yet. It looks incredibley powerful if you know how to use it. I don't get how the envelopes in it work. Using the Envelope Controller, the envelope is triggered with a midi note. How does the love philter know when to impliment/restart the envelopes? Especially because it's already in the FX chain, so it's beyond midi?

Nah man love philter lets you make ramp wave lfos, Im not talking about envelopes

... You dont need an envelope for ramp lfo, shits the key to that vaski/cookie monsta sound ... Love philter, put the bitcrushers before it and the choruses after, turn the one little knob on the cutoff lfo till it turns into a ramp, go nuts ...
Okay yeah here's great example...
Note Im puting the <lfo> on the <volume> hence the lfo tab and volume tab being selected, and the little dot in the bottom left corner next to the lfo picture is clicked in.
I turn the Tens knob a bit to round the lfo waveform out some...
Then the SK knob turns it into a vaski wobble
Then you use the patterns to control the lfo rate.
Done.
God I love my DAW.

Love philters an awesome program once you get to playing with it, honeslty, id rank it as the most versatile filter bank Ive seen to date, if the interface wasnt as scary looking if not scarier then sytrus's

...
I use it mostly when a filter needs automated, its nothing speical as far as the actual filters go its your abilty to modulate and automate the fuck sake out of everything there thats nice... COmine it with event data on some of the knobs too

your like me, you wont use it for total wubs haha, as easy as it makes them... get the x y pad running to a lowpass highpass combo, put that shit on your percussion, n go nuts haha... combine it with event data on the pan and some of the inbuilt fancy effects (flange phase) youll see wha tI mean haha.
Oh I forgot to mention just generally put lovephilter before or after dblue glitch... run into edison, leave glitch on random go nuts with love x y functions and lfo's n shit haha. resample a million times. Synth sound sets like no other.

thanks again

still waiting for someone to do an indepth Love Filter tutorial. I have watched some but they just cover the basics, they don't go into how to use the different patterns etc...

What dont you understand?
Okay...
See the tabs along the center, that say pan, vol, cut, res, low, band, hi, ect?
Click on one, and youll be given tabs for pattern, mods, lfo...
The pattern, in each tab, controls the pattern for thats tab, during the fl pattern your currently in (lol mouthful)... LFO controls the lfo for the tab you have selected, x/y define the pad, ect.
You can edit all the tabs, so you have a gating volume pattern with an lfo on the bandpass cutoff and a hipass lowpass on your xy pad, real fast and simply, if you think about it like that. Pretty crazy effect...
Ask more specific questions ill give you more specific answers.

hmmm I'm not really sure what you are saying here. in the top left of the pattern window you can choose a patter number, up to 10. Ahh I think I get it then you can make a different envelope under each pattern, then automat between envlopes. That would make wobbles (amoungst other things) really easy.
what about the Filter Unit numbers along the top? Apparently each fitler feeds into the next?
What sort of effects could you get with this? can you automate which it so that only one fitler unit works at a time?
hmmm I get it a little more now... just needed to concentrate a bit lol. I'm always using the Free Filter, which I know must sound weak compared to the love philter. I've just recently been hooking up the Free Filter to the envelope controller, but with the Love Philter there is no need, you can just use different pattern numbers. Actually it would depend what you were going to do as to whether the Envelope controller or the Love Philter would be better...

I imagine free filter and envelope controller has to be a little less resource heavy though right? love filter just takes a serious load off anytime you need really, really complex filter craziness haha...

In case if you didn't know FL has a built in LFO in the event editor. If you right click on what you want to control then edit events, ALT+O or tools LFO you can make your own LFO's in the automation. You might have to tweak it a bit depending on the wave sharp you want but its still quick and easy.

I think it has a tension control so I imagine you can get the shapes you can from love philter. btw it's also useful to note that by default any pattern used in love philter is set to global i.e. it doesn't retrigger every time a new note is played.
