I bought it the other day and wasn't really impressed... apparently my gaming days are behind me more so than I thought. however being the audio nerd I have become I love the sounds in that game so is the only way to really get them through audacity or something? As far as I can tell it would be a pain in the ass to somehow extract the files.

i'll look into it. if i find a way i'll let you know.

what platform you playing it on? P.c.?

i'm pretty sure there will be an sfx folder locked away somewhere deep in the files. only thing is i haven't installed the game yet.

Usually these days it's locked away in a big file that only the game can access, you used to have everything out in the open before but now they encrypt the game files Sorry...

Though it might be worth trying to extract it with 7zip/winrar as that sometimes works.

Remember, ripping sounds from games are just as illegal as sampling off a vinyl and putting it on your tune... They're going to try their best to make sure you can't do it.

All blizzard games have their own proprietary format known as mpq. There is usually an mpq file called sound or audio, or something like that - and usually something such as winzip is able to open it. Inside there you'll find a world of goodies. I've been wanting to do this to extract the vehicle sounds and some of the vocals because their sound engineers have done an amazing job. I'm expecially interested in the hydraulic noises they use when you're down in the armory looking at units.

alright, think its finished uploading now, remote upping to filefactory is so weird

anyway, its probably not ALL there, sc2 uses the same sort of modular system as other blizzard games, but most of it is there. some really quality stuff, so go buy the official soundtrack and the games to say thanks to their sound designers

not had a chance to play and see if anything is applicable to dubstep yet but ive def got my eye on some stuff for other tunes
