Alright peeps. How do you fancy setting up a collective DSF blog with regular contributions from our users?

The general idea would be a blog which we can write articles on and link them to forum topics etc so DSF sample pack competitions etc. Also we can promote DSF dubs on there amongst other things.

I'm definitely up for writing some of it (of course) I write for http://www.undertheradarmagazine.co.uk at the moment so have experience of writing for a music blog.

If you have any ideas on features or the format of the blog, or indeed would be interested in helping out on it, hit me up either by PM or in this thread.

i'd be happy to design and set up a blog if I knew there was enough interest in it

That would be great of you, I'd certainly put in the time if I knew I was getting help; I started a blog up on my own but had no one to really help so it dwindled. I was thinking of a wordpress account but if you're happy to contribute hosting then that's cool- would you be able to embed Soundcloud players and the like?

That would be cool, we'll see if there's enough interest and then take things from there.

Yeah thanks man, It would be good to go ahead with it for sure, I just need to some ideas on making it original and relevant to the forum though. You already said you'd be interested in writing, and then Phigure with the desigh side of things...the more the merrier definitely, as it stands with the people interested we could still do something but it'd be easier to run with a few more heads on board. I'll PM him in a bit and see what he says- it wouldn't be for profit just for the fun of it and getting our names out there.

If you want to plug onto mine for any Massive stuff that's cool... i'd be up for writing some stuff for it too.

Exactly, you could make an exclusive mix for DSF (entirely of DSFers tracks if you wanted) and link it on the blog (as you're already doing the mixes already so why not get them out there?)

Production lessons is a good one

Interviews with artists is a good one too because we know the calibre of producers that use this forum; and the sort of exposure it gets. If a blog was running who knows where you could potentially get to if you make a track and it is recognised.

Also a feature I had running on my now expired blog; tune of the week. Whereby two tracks go head to head and people vote for their favourite out of the two-

Plus regular blog posts in general and things that benefit the contributors as well as the readers- free downloads and stuff like that, providing everyone who was involved was cool with that.

I'm liking this, i always feel this forum needs some front of house to expose some of the going ons and a blog would be perfect

I would put in some work, write articles and features of interest. All I need is to be told a rough outline of what i need to do and i'll get it done. I've written music blogs before.

I'd definitely read something like this, just watch to make sure there's a representation for all parts of the scene, so maybe get some people who are into different (as much as I hate to say it) "sub-genres" to write some bits.

I'm drawn to anything with a free download, so thats a great idea.

It's good to see people want to get on board, this could be a moderate success.
