First off this is not to epeen or debate the artistic merit of digital mixing. This is more so to cover all aspects of dubstep and create a great listening experience for the masses.
The Goal: Create a mega mix in which multiple djs contribute 12-15 minutes each into a larger mix.
How it works: DJ one will mix their 12-15 minutes, DJ two will mix out of their last track into their first track. DJ#1 will spin their set and send me their link (or send it to me on AIM). I will pass that audio on to DJ#2, dj #2 will add their contribution to the mix and send me their link. Ideally DJ #1 will submit to me 15 mins, DJ#2 will submit to me 30 mins, etc. more details will be given to the participants
What can I use to do this?: This can be accomplished however you see fit, be it loading the previous mp3 into a digital program (mixmeister, ableton, tractor) or using searto, cds, however. If you are doubting if you have the skill or know how to accomplish this, this may not be the project for you
The Rules: Each participant is to mix no less than 4 songs no more than 10 songs. Your portion of the mix must last at least 12 minutes may not exceed 15 minutes. You may not use a tune which has already been used in the mix (remixes, vips of original versions are ok). Do not use any unreleased tunes that you do not have permission to play. Once it is your turn you have 24 hours to add your contribution to the mix.
For the sake of fluidity of the mix we will try and group similar artists together. Please do your best to briefly describe the type of tunes you play in your sets. Once our roster is lined up I'll assign the DJ order and go from there.
This will be capped at 10 participants.
Once the mix is completed I will search out someone to do artwork and will make the host available for download and streaming.
If you have any questions please post them here
