We are a label that will go farther than most to push our artist's music and further their careers by thinking outside the box. Hypnosis Recordings may be an independent digital music label but have big ideals and want the music we release to reach as many ears as possible.
DROID SECTOR
Tom Wojcicki aka Droid Sector is a 27 year old producer/dj currently residing in Geelong on the east coast of Australia. Since late 2008 Droid Sector had steadily been increasing his exposure within the scene through a number digital releases on labels such as Rottun, Shift and Stupid Fly. Mid 2009 saw him get picked up for his first vinyl release by none other than Tech Itch, and he made his vinyl debut on Ascension with two popular tunes Crimson Tears and Bipolar.
From that point onwards things really picked up for him and a succession of vinyl releases followed, with his collab with the Bassist 'Jah Is Coming' becoming a hit in the US and EU. His tunes range from the face meltingly hard and heavy to deep melancholic numbers.
At the end of 2009 he began playing DJ shows and has thus far headlined in every major city in Australia. His sets take in a wide range of dubstep styles from the deep to the heavy, and crowds can always be assured of hearing 100% fresh tunes when they see him play. He has also recently started a vinyl label dedicated to dark, deep and techy dubstep with artists such as Babylon System and Matt U onboard to release tunes on it.
The rest of 2010 sees a swathe of vinyl coming out on a broad range of labels, as well as many shows both at home and abroad.
BOOT
Producer/DJ Boot has quickly risen to the forefront of Australian Dubstep production. His sound is a convergence of dark dancefloor Dubstep, techstep Drum and Bass, Minimal Techno, Tech House, punk attitude and he brings this love of dark and brooding futuristic hyperfunk to his tunes, leaving us with only one way to describe his music - seriously teched out dance floor Dubstep with a deeper edge.
Boot also writes and performs as one half of The Abyss with fellow Sydney artist Sook, recently finishing a remix of Dubtek's 'Fanatic' which has been picked up by Shift Recordings, and a truckload of other remixes and original collaborations are on the boil as we speak. The boys have been destroying dancefloors around Australia with their energetic DJ sets containing liberal splatterings of their own productions as well as killer dubs from like-minded producers from around the globe.
At the start of 2010, fellow Australian producer Droid Sector asked Boot on board to help run Requiem Audio - a vinyl and digi label dedicated to the darker and atmospheric side of dubstep. Artists locked for release include Babylon System, Matt U, The Bassist, Triage, Matta, Dubtek, Chewie, 3rd Eye and Safire, as well as Droid Sector and Boot
With DJ support from artists such as Droid Sector, Triage, Antiserum, Phaeleh, Dubtek, Lukki and The Subdivision just to name a few and releases forthcoming on Requiem Audio, Terminal Dusk, Shift Recordings, Paradise Lost, Stoke Audio and Rogue Dubs, Boot is definitely one to watch out for over the coming year!
SOOK
Discovered floating in low earth orbit and awoken from cyrostasis the ancient cybernetic organism Sook has teamed up with fellow sonic renegade boot to form Sydney’s destructive bass music duo "The Abyss."
Forged in a forgotten age Sook feeds on bass and is looking to unleash his lastest and darkest sub assault on the planets dance-floors. Dirty Beats programmed, uploaded in the neuro-matrix and ready for deployment. A vast array of teched out tunes from some of best producers around the globe is on offer in any of Sook’s sets.
When this 17ft robotic overlord from the universes dark distant past isn’t busy sculpting sound and releasing beats on international labels Rottun Recordings, Requiem Audio, Gradient, Betamorph, Carbon Logic and Rogue Dubs he enjoys romantic walks along the beach and quiet evenings in front of the armored core of his intergalactic fortress.
Sook’s beats have been receiving support from heavy weight artists and DJs around the globe including Riskoteque, Phaeleh, Datsik, Excision, Babylon System, Triage, Suspect, Antiserum, Ultrablack Droid Sector, Garage Pressure, Vaski, Innasekt, Vesicle Twisted, Sick Cycle, Dubtek, Mark Instinct, Downlink, Sinister Souls, Matta, Phaded and Current value.
