anyone in London tonight (friday 27th) would do well to reach the Dubliminal launch night as a carnival warm-up.

Cessman, Potentz, JazzyJazzy, Joe Ariwa & The Trixsters, Dubtechnicians & Odessa at the controls.
Arch 269, Brixton. 10pm til 5am. Quality hot food, quality system, quality lineup. Quality all-round!

I've been on sundays both times I've been and it's been fine - you see some families around but it's not like the whole place turns into a nursery school. Still nice vibes and good music, they don't replace all the soundsystems with The Tweenies or anything.

And IMO looking for dubstep at carnival is Doing It Wrong, it's like going to the World Cup and trying to find a cricket match to watch...

I am also a notting hill virgin and going down to london on sunday for the festivities, not much information on the internet but whats the deal with alcohol, I take it you can just pop in the shops and bring your own booze or do you have to buy from vendors inside?? I also assume that all the sound systems are on the go throughout Sunday or do they only go on Mondays, apologies if these seem like ridiculous questions but I have no idea and information on the carnival website is minimal at best so any help with these is appreciated.

Yeah, short answer is that there is no 'inside', it's just a bunch of soundsystems on street corners. If you want to bring in a rucksack full of beer and don't mind carrying it around all day then that's cool, otherwise you can buy stuff from local shops or from stalls when you're there...
