I've been on sundays both times I've been and it's been fine - you see some families around but it's not like the whole place turns into a nursery school. Still nice vibes and good music, they don't replace all the soundsystems with The Tweenies or anything.dj mate wrote:Sunday is for the children best is 2 get out on monday!
I am also a notting hill virgin and going down to london on sunday for the festivities, not much information on the internet but whats the deal with alcohol, I take it you can just pop in the shops and bring your own booze or do you have to buy from vendors inside?? I also assume that all the sound systems are on the go throughout Sunday or do they only go on Mondays, apologies if these seem like ridiculous questions but I have no idea and information on the carnival website is minimal at best so any help with these is appreciated.slothrop wrote:I've been on sundays both times I've been and it's been fine - you see some families around but it's not like the whole place turns into a nursery school. And IMO looking for dubstep at carnival is Doing It Wrong, it's like going to the World Cup and trying to find a cricket match to watch...
Yeah, short answer is that there is no 'inside', it's just a bunch of soundsystems on street corners. If you want to bring in a rucksack full of beer and don't mind carrying it around all day then that's cool, otherwise you can buy stuff from local shops or from stalls when you're there...jackquinox wrote:I am also a notting hill virgin and going down to london on sunday for the festivities, not much information on the internet but whats the deal with alcohol, I take it you can just pop in the shops and bring your own booze or do you have to buy from vendors inside??
