So what do you see as personal milestones? This isn't an 'achievement' thread. theres already one of those.

But what i'm interested in hearing is what planned milestones have you recently hit?

For me recently is was getting 40,000+ Plays on my soundcloud. One of my new uploads has had 5,000 plays alone in 4 days!

What are your personal milestones?, and have you achieved them?

:w:

2k views on I'd give anything on youtube,
almost 1k listens to tell me you love me in less than a week, which is kinda big for me, download limit on that one was hit after only 2 days too, which was cool,
10k total listens on my soundcloud too which pleased me
and my signings

All nice milestones for me.

Personally, I was rather touched when FentPlates started following me on Soundcloud
I feel so very amateurish compared to the other guys (and girl) he's following!

I was happy enough when EZ played a few of my tunes on Kiss 100 and Ras Kwarme played them on 1xtra a while back. Obviously these were my garage tracks, but :D

Milestones to me are a step up in production quality, tunes that are a cut above all tunes that I've previously produced, either because I've stumbled across/worked for a new production technique that works just the way I want it to or that I've managed to throw together a few sounds that just work really well for me, the amount of people that view and comment on them (whether they are flattering or not) isn't really relevant to whether I would regard it as a milestone, it's more of the feeling of achievement after I've finished it.

2 contrasting examples I suppose would be 'Stonehead', which was my first dubstep tune and I just had too much darkness to get out from producing melodic electro house for a while, that tune just flew out of me and I was really happy with it once finished, which went down pretty well with listeners too as I suppose at the time it was pretty fresh, and 'Shut The Fuck Up', which I spent quite a lot of hours on trying to make sure everything sounding nice and tbh struggled to get to the sound I was going for but persevered until I finally got there, it didn't get a response like 'Stonehead' did, most probably because it's not that different from other tunes out there, but personally I was very satisfied once it was finished. They're both up there as milestones for me :D

Yeah it's more of a personal thing for me too, just slowly improving and being able to hear it.

Finally got over my like 4 month producers block last week and nearly got 3 tracks out the way. Different style, but really enjoying it. Going to get these tracks finished then upload them all to my soundcloud and delete the old ones. Fresh starts sometimes do wonders!

This year I had 3 production milestones achieved:

The first milestone was achieved earlier in the year when I completed producing my first track

The second milestone was achieved when I got one of my tunes signed by a record label

And achieving a total of 1000+ plays on my Soundcloud

Most significant for me was probably being able to finish tunes without them sounding like endless loops and without having to grind away for months (I have a horrendously busy job so real production time is hard to find)

That and getting a track released
