Element Mastering
+
Service
This service is for anyone looking for mastering/mixing on a tight budget. You can submit your tracks and receive the masters back with a turnaround time currently of 1 - 2 days. I use a combination of EQ & Compression / Limiting to achieve a mix that will both translate well across a wide range of systems as well as stack up competitively in terms of apparent 'Loudness' against other professionally released tracks.
Currently I am only working for donation so pay as little (or as much!) as you feel the track is worth. If you are unsure of whether my service would be right for you then send me over a track and I'll work on it for free (no donation necessary) and we'll take it from there!
+
Experience
I have been mixing/recording for around 3 years now, I have worked with and provided masters for quite a few members from this forum and the feedback I've received back has been overwhelming. I am currently working full time in music technology sales and mastering, allowing me to build up my studio and still offer quality masters for donations.
+
Requirements
- Track's need to be either undithered 16/24 bit wav's at 44.1/48khz (Please no 32 bit wav's if you can help it, and no Mp3's)
- Please leave a couple of seconds of silence either side of your track when bouncing (This avoids any chances of cutting off the start/end of the track)
- Bus processing is fine but please switch off any stereo bus processing (unless it is done for creative purpose e.g reverb, delay)
+
Submission
1. PM me a link to your track (16bit .wav minimum)
2. Your track will be mastered and sent back to you in 1-2 days
If you are interested either drop me a PM on here or email me on:-
jonathan@elementmastering.com
Examples:-
Example 1 - Wikkum : DeathMarch
Example 2 - Vertx : Struttin

Generally, I tend to give feedback anyway. I will say what needed doing to the track, possibly how it could be improved etc
With things like eq and compression I'm happy to say what I did e.g small band 1.5 db boost at 2.5k, I don't really have the time to be able to spend however long mastering a track and then spend twice as long explaining every little thought and process but yeah I'm happy to give you the rough gist of what I did (for no extra cost)
@Basic A - Yes I just realized that's what it is, oh well as long as it's slightly different from the other walloftexts out there, I can be slightly happier

Hi man, it seemed to make sense as I got a lot of tracks come in last time and people needing these done quickly (usually the case if playing them out)
I don't feel that the people not paying are getting cheated by queue jumpers as if they really feel my work is worth something it makes sense to donate something anyway.
It would just be nice to be able to have a small amount come in alongside a day job so that I can reinvest into my monitoring chain and improve the work further.

I think your goals are a bit wolf in sheep clothing.
I think the 'que jumper' idea is a clever ploy to do the same as im doing, but im doing it without the BS.

- 3 years across live, studio, production hence the free/low price system
- Goals are essentially the same as before, more practise on mastering but I'm not a complete beginner
- The "Queue jumper" is to build on what I was doing before. I could do a donation only system or a completely free system but then I'm still getting projects thrown at me in all directions without any idea of when they will be finished and how quickly I can get them back to people.
With this system I can still address the people needing free masters while being able to cater for those who need them more urgently.
I wish you well with what you are doing, I know you have more years under your belt and respect that. I know you felt my last thread was a copy of what you were doing but this is still down to practise for me, however I do know that some people responded very well to what I was doing which Is why I offered a donation option for those that are happy to pay for my work and get it done quicker.

Very well put. Sorry my reply was in bad taste, guess im a bit protective!
Buuuuut. In High-insight of my general success of my services, and the inclusion of yours that I hear is doing well,
I have changed my strategy and not offering my services for donation/free. Now it is fixed rates etc.. I have updated my post reflecting this. Not going to post the link here as thats a bit foul play.
And I can see how the que jumper would work now. I just assumed it was a bit of scare tactics to get more service.
And dood. Dont think im getting heavy handed. Yes I may have had more time in the studio/listening experience, But at the end of the day its the end product right??
Im happy for this. (not like you need my blessings lol)

To be fair Depone yours was pretty fucking confusing 'cause you kept saying you weren't doing 'a real mastering job' and then asking to be payed for it. It's not as if someone could then use your edited version- which they payed for- and get it properly mastered after anyway.
Your A/Bs sound good so don't think I'm slating your skills, they were your words. But Lowpass has got shrewd business skills on display here.

Hehe seems your services on a different level after all, congrats that you've got to the charging fixed rates stage. But yeah if people don't want to have to wait to have their stuff mastered and feel my work isn't worth the money then I'll send 'em your way.
Seems we did this on the last thread too, I see why people should be questioned especially when they don't have a kit list to boast. But I'm not somebody looking to emulate and undercut others services' with my cracked copy of izotope/waves plugs. The reason why I have only stock plugs atm is because my mac is 100% legit (application wise

)
If my work is actually worth something it would seem a shame to turn down a chance to be payed for my services and build up my equipment further.
As for the mastering battle

Nothing wrong with using the logic stock plugs. They are shweeeeeet! After all its what you can do with them.
Personally i cant live without my KEF Reference Monitors. I also check mixes on my dads hand built horn speakers.

Still trying to work out if the extra processing power is worth the money compared to just going for other plugins that run native
