I learned and am still learning massive the best by trial and error. Really all you need is basic knowledge on how synths work.

Learn about amp envelopes and filter envelopes and shit like that.

I recommend the TST Dubstep tutorial workshop, its a 13 video workshop that teaches you how to get the right sounds out of massive and how to use most of its features.

edit: people already posted it :t:

seriously, these threads are f*cking ridiculous. This exact question could have been answered, and you could have NOT wasted other people's time by simply googling "massive vst tutorial". jesus.

edit: apologies. I get pissed off when something so simple is so easily answered with a little initiative. If you don't have initiative, you're not gonna get too far producing music =\

I did search for tutorials online, and watched them. Now i am coming to the conclusion that the reason i cannot follow these tutorials is possibly because of the specific cracked version i have. I was simply looking for any alternatives anyone knew of. Thanks for the support...

+1 when a synth is that unstable when cracked you have no option really

+ 1 For the The Sound Tutor tutorials. They are the best that i've seen out there and helped me the most. That said though, i've learned more from experimentation with massive alone.
I have used the cracked version before. It's a pain in the ass with the crashes but once you know the fix (delete the NI massive database file) it's manageable. I think the problem with the cracked copy is the automation. There is a bunch of ways you can do what you want without automation in massive though. But yeah, it's definately worth the cash. And it just gets easier and easier to use.

Let me solve your issue:

Look for the Native Instruments folder inside your programs map.
Search for the Massive folder and click => DELETE

Now get yourself a synth that isnt getting used by the entire dubstep universe.

Good luck mate! :t:

I'm was in the same boat as you but had absolutely no problems. Purchased the synth once I knew it was awesome.
