				What active subwoofer?

				Hey,
I have the Alesis M1Active 520 active monitors. They've a great flat sound but I think they are lacking on the bass a bit and I'd like a like to add a bit more weight to their sound.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced sub that would suit these monitors?
Don't really have money to buy new ones or splash out loads on an expensive sub.
Any suggestions would be brilliant.

I've got the same monitors, they're great, but yeah they do lack the bass.
Problem is there's no outputs for an additional sub, so I don't know how to wire it, otherwise I'd have a sub too

 .
Anyone out there whose wired these with a sub?! Let us know pleasseeee!!

i don't know what price range you are talking about but i really like the JBL LSR2310SP. it's about $400 and great for that price.
freakah: sounds like you need a soundcard with more outs

I upgraded from the 520's to the 620's. Bass issues solved. Only cost me 200 off ebay for my 620's, theyre second hand but you really cant tell. Pretty stoked tbh!

I had these in my set up for ages. I just recently upgraded and put the M1's onto my Djing set up because I couldnt bear to part with them.
I used to run an old JBW sub with them. I got it off ebay for £50. Sounded brilliant.
I would consider upgrading to the 620's to solve the bass issue, like the man above said, it might be the cheapest and best option.

				Appreciate the replies guys.
I'm not really looking to upgrade my monitors just want to find a sub at around the same wattage (150) and around the £100-£200 mark but you do make a valid point that if I were to spend 200 on a sub then it might just be worth getting the bigger models...

Yo, most subs have it so you can plug your ins to the sub then out to monitors so would go soundcard -> sub -> monitors
Like you can see here:
