Red Bull Music Academy and Tectonic present:
Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outerspace

This November, Red Bull Music Academy will team up with Tectonic to bring one of dub music’s originators to the UK for three dates of unforgettable beats and soul shaking sounds. The legendary Scientist will return to these shores for a tour that kicks off at Fabric on the 18th November. Also joining Scientist on tour will be Pinch, Sgt Pokes, Mala & Loefah.

The tour will continue onto Stereo in Glasgow and Concorde 2 in Brighton.

Scientist needs no introduction, as a former protégé of King Tubby; he is one of the godfathers of the dub scene. Pitching up with him on this tour are The Upsetters, who were originally Lee Scratch Perry’s house band but went on to form the nucleus of The Wailers. These two heavyweight names will be joined by some of the UK’s finest talents – Pinch, who is famed for his fusions of reggae and dancehall, RBMA favourite Mala who has played alongside Gilles Peterson, Loefah who has earned himself a respected reputation in the Dub world along with his Skream remixes and the incredibly talented Pokes to offer the ultimate night of bass and beats.

Mala commented;

"Scientist is an original dub master!! So to be on tour with him really is an honour. Seeing him play live will be an experience not to be missed!"

18th November – Fabric, London:
Scientist vs The Upsetters, Pinch, Sgt Pokes, Mala and Loefah.

21st November – Stereo, Glasgow:
Fortified presents Scientist, Pinch, Sgt Pokes, Loefah and Electric Eliminators

24th November - Concorde 2, Brighton:
Scientist vs The Upsetters, Pinch, Sgt Pokes, Mala and Loefah

These three dates are set to be unmissable, with a line up that will not be replicated anywhere in the world.

sidebar - i had the pleasure of working with scientist here in nyc where dubspot hired him to do a dub seminar so to speak.. i was the house sound engineer and basically spent the day chilling with scientist, picking his brain, blazing, and watching the man do his thing.. truly a legend.. on another level.. there's a reason scientist records sound like no other dub records... so glad he's taken an ear for the dstep

Yes the Scientist has remixed 3 tunes of mine so far but it will end up being an album of some sort
