Clean Wump

So i've been pissing about with Albino most of the day and have managed myself to get a pretty thick wump going, but how do I clean it up so it sounds smooth and loud?. I'm quite new to dubstep so I can't really site any producers as an example but i'm sure you know what I mean by a big clean wump :D

What's a good basis to start from using eq and does it invlove layering with different sound waves? I've got the wump it just needs polishing and I have no idea how to go about this. Thanks.

If you want it clean, try notes higher up the keyboard. Things get dirty down low if you want harmonics and bass. Use two waveforms. A cleaner one for higher up audibles and a sub (Sine) for the low down stuff.

And does there really need to be 3 separate threads about you titting around with Albino?

;)

Ah but this one wasn't about titting around with Albino as such, it was more about cleanliness of bass :).

So basically put say a triangle wave on one oscillator and a sine on the other? or do you mean 2 seperate synths?

Two oscillators. A Sine gives you a nice clean tone and is good for low stuff that doesn't have any 'tooth' to it. Then throw whatever you like up top. The trick is to make them blend so it doesn't sound like two parts, but one.
Unless you like them to sound separate.

It might also help to push up from Low to High Pass a little...
(sorta towards the bottom right)

Also- re: triangle and sine- you'll (IMHO) find better results with one of 'em being square... ;)
