So Ministry asked me to curate a compilation.

The idea is to represent dubstep's variety and endless cross-fertilisations, and the fact that it's not just a "new trend" but something substantial with a history and future.

So basically I chose some old, some new, some aggro, some sexy, some techno, some garage, some grime, some spaced out tracks and some stone cold bangers...

CD 01
1 Egyptrixx The Only Way Up Ikonika Remix
2 Martin Kemp After The Night
3 Noodles Muzik
4 Sully In Some Pattern
5 VVV Project Z
6 Svpreme Fiend Downfall
7 Sines Twitta Dat
8 Dom Hz Without You
9 Martyn Natural Selection Flying Lotus Cleanse Mix
10 El-B Feat. Nico This Thrill
11 Goldielocks Vs Benga Green Eyes
12 Geiom & Appleblim Flame Tree
13 8Bitch G41
14 Fused Forces What's Going Down
15 The Moody Boyz Feat. Pete Simpson Freedom

CD 02
1 Tekfro Feat. DJ Assault Keep Bouncin’
2 Wedge & Shadz Running Away Guido Remix
3 racket Grime 3
4 Cotti & Chef End Of Da Road
5 Badness Feat. Lil Nasty & Skepta Nightmare Coki & Cotti Remix
6 Mskrnt Walk Alone
7 Cardopusher Gibold Scandalous Unltd. Remix
8 Stagga Feat. Tzer, Ydot & JBone Face Get Splat

I can tell you now, the finished mixes have come out better than I'd possibly imagined... And I think Ministry have been really surprised by it too. Obviously it's a studio mix, not me crashing about with a set of Technics, but even so some of the transitions give me proper rave goosebumps :o

I know that obviously everyone will find something that should have been on it but isn't - and there are a good few tracks I would dearly have loved to get on there that I missed out on due to deadlines / money / licensing / forgetfulness / whatever - but if this goes well it will be the first of a series, so SPREAD THE WORD! Ministry might be late to the game, but if they are willing to put their muscle behind something that shows the diversity of the scene rather than playing up to what a general audience might expect, then I'm well happy to be a part of that.

seriously impressive array of sounds on there. And great to see racket's tracks are still getting around :)

May well have to pick this one up.

There's a third Brackout 12" coming out pretty soon! So good that Ben's friends and family saw fit to get his music out there, it well deserves a wider audience.

Listen, I'm a great admirer of your work and I do hate be the voice of negativity.

But I'm not impressed by that tracklist. It does represent a wide array of sound and big up for that seriously, but I can't say that FOR ME PERSONALLY, this is the most atractive tracklisting.

Again, don't want to be deliberately hating or trolling, i'm just stating what went through my mind when I saw that tracklist.

Might have to pick it up for a few of the tracks...

Hopefully it will do better for everyone compared to the last ministry dubstep CD, just endless remixes and it was just gobbled up by posers through-out the land.

Its brilliant that you are showcasing the different sounds coming out of the scene.
Big up.

1. Big up Joe for that tracklist. BIG!
2. Big Up Ministry for (clearly) letting Muggs choose the lot without having to throw in a Top 40 Remix.

Looking forward to copping this.

well obviously, anyone who sort of 'knows' me and my tastes in dubstep by my past posts on the forum, will know that I'm not exactly craving for the top 40 remix material in compilations like these.
I'm just seeing a few tracks in there that I skipped buying because they weren't really standout material, again for me...

I don't get that Wow feeling.
It's the same for the latest This is Dubstep comp though.... some new tunnidge, some new clubroot yeah but overall , meeeh

I guess I'm hard to please.
But again, big up for the nice spread of material, full spectrum to say the least.

not a comment on the tunes or mixes but who comes up with these titles :adventures in dubsteop...and beyond, this is dubstep, dubstep generation. they're cringe worthy. I know they are being marketed to people that dont know about dubstep and thye want dubstep in the title but really "and beyond"?!

Well you know, you've got to call it something! What would YOU call it, remembering that you've got to make it stand out from every other compilation?

This title was a bit jokey, the idea is it's like an old sci-fi comic or something (see also the artwork). "And Beyond" is very deliberate, because it's not just dubstep - there's old and new garage beats, there's grime tracks, there's Amen breakbeat tunes, there's house, there's techno... so it IS "dubstep and beyond"!
