"This set was done Live on the Beatdown on KUCI 88.9 on March 3rd, 2007. The first half is dubstep, starting with some fresh new tracks from local artist and ending with some vinyl favorites. The second half is what I think is the debut of Skweee on US radio. It features tracks from the main two Skwee labels Flogsta Danstal and Harmonia."

Yeah man, Im in the process of trying to help them get out to the US for a little tour this summer... gonna be expensive to get them here though. I hope we can so I can check out the live Skweee experience.
[shameless plug]Theres some skweee mixes for download on my virb page at
www.virb.com/kidlogic... waiting to get a few of the newer tracks for my first studio skweee mix, coming soon![/shameless plug]
Got two other mixes just about done, then I can focus on the Skweee...
Did anyone happen to see Kode9's top 20 list for the year? Scandinavian Skweee vol 2 is on there. Here's hoping Kode9 throws down a skweee track or two this year... (hint hint, nudge nudge)

This is quite cool actually - reminds me a lot of old P-Funk stuff (and these sounds do put a smile on my face which is always good).

i probably need to give it some more though but i'm kinda thinking that skweee is to funk what dubstep is to digi-dub

Thats a pretty spot on analogy...
The name was coined by Super DJ Kool Dust aka Daniel Salvo because of the sounds of the synths make.
Skweee varies in tempo from 70-120 and is made up of all synthetic sounds. When performed live at skweee parties in Scandinavia, theres rarely dj sets, most of the time they perform it live with hardware synths, drum machines and sequencers.
