Should I throw Distance a track?

So I'm seeing Distance in Vancouver saturday night.
And I got this track. I got it on a CD, all by itself.
I'm just gonna strike up a convo with Mr. Sanders and give him this disk. I expect nothing much, it would just be an honour for this dude to hear it and give me some feedback via internet later on, perhaps.
My question: is this just dumb? Is this guy gonna be WAY too busy to hear some bedroom dubs by some dumb canuck? tbh, i've regrettably only been able to see lame brostep in canada so far, and i live in a small town, so this for me is like a pilgrimage.
What does Dubstep think?

Yeah, go ahead. I believe he is pretty open to hearing new tracks, and has stated so many times on his radio show, always looking for new tunes to go in his sets and potentially sign to chestplate etc.
If he plays it in a radio show, that probably means he thinks it is good in one way or another, if you dont hear it, it probably means you should go back to the drawing board.

yeah man do it. although fair warning, he might not get a chance to listen to it. i usually find when people give me a CD that I do intend to listen to it, then the party and the travelling and the flights home get in the way, and then two weeks later I'm rifling through my record bag in france or romania or somewhere and... what's this? oh yeah, that CD that the dude gave me in Scotland or Denmark. really must listen to that when I get home.....

emails are generally a better bet!

Definitely send him music. I had a couple things played on his show, a couple years ago. You might not get feedback from him, but if he plays it, that's a good sign, and hopefully you'll get some feedback from the show's listeners as that's the real barometer.

Distance is an amazingly down-to-earth and nice guy. The music business would be a better place if there were more artists in his position like him. :)

(Also, I still flove "Traffic" and "Dark Crystal".)

Lucky. I live near Nelson BC and the only dubstep that gets booked is brostep. They get every big wobble producer on tour but never anything else. Flux P, Doxtor P, Borgore, Datsik, Downlink, Subvert, Excision, Rusko. but never any deeper artists on tour It pisses me off and I dont even mind the brostep, I just want something different. I might move to Vancouver Island next year though.

Giving a producer a cd is more of a personal touch then sending an mp3, so im sure he wouldn't mind at all. Only 1 way to find out though.

Doit. To be fair what's the worst that can happen.. he doesn't listen to it. Which is the same scenario as if you never gave it to him.

Just remember that ancient proverb

"He who dares rodders"
