some acquaintances of mine who specialise in cryptography and computing etc are convinced nsa in particular already have quantum computers

Wouldn't surprise me. High technology is pretty controlled, and usually comes down in trickles to the consumers.

Doing physics at uni atm.

You only get Quantum Mechanics in the first year of your master degree course :(

do not blame the weed. First grow some balls, then try again

and to prove this: i've got a good friend who smokes pretty much every day. He's now studying math/science in one of the more elite schools in belgium in his last year. This dude gets +80% and even +90% on all his courses. No kidding! While half of the class fails...
