Alright so I ordered a pair of samson rubicon r6a's and I was under the impression they were going to be new but they're used and one of them has the dust cap replaced. Is this going to affect the sound at all? I'm guessing not but I just want to make sure

heres what they normally look like

It shouldn't do, where was they purchased? If it wasn't from a respected/trust store I doubt you could complain.

Hmm, they seem to have a B-stock and rebate part of the site, if your order wasn't from that part, I would ring up and ask wtf is up.

Well, as long as they sound alright and there are no noticeable imperfections in the sound I really wouldn't worry!

Are both monitors the same?
Sure it isn't a revision of the original design? You might have got a newer version...

well yea theyre the same the only difference is the dust cap. do u guys think its possible someone at the delivery company switched one out for one of their own? because like the one that has the replacement the volumes all the way down and the power switch is on while the other the switch is off and the volume knobs at a different position. it was also a little dusty on the cone and has a small scuff on the bottom.
there is actually a couple differences like they both say ds-615 around the edge of the speaker but its in a different font on both. also r the serial numbers usually in order because the one ends with 333 and the other is 350

Was just about to post something along those lines. Lets just hope when you plug them in, they sound fine/identical.

The problem is, even if they do, it's gonna bother ya. It would be anyway. And something so obvious too. Just get mad every time you look at them. You just have certain expectations when you buy something new. It's not too much to ask. If they don't give you at least some of the money back, I'd send em right back up their ass. This is where I get nervous buying off the internet tho. It's so easy for someone to make the site look legit these days. I ordered some styluses a couple months back and they were pretty cheap but only after ordering them do I realize they don't have anything in stock, they have to order them and have them shipped and then from there to me. They tell you it will come within a certain time frame but you expect them earlier rather than later. I shouldn't be ordering anyway I have like 5 shops within a 20 minute drive of my house lol. I digress.

^^^ Had this exact thing happen to me ordering my APC40 from this dodgy ass music site. If you're in New Zealand stay away from musicthingz.co.nz. Fully dodge. Ended up getting the bank involved and got my money back. Apparently they've been sending stuff with serial numbers scratched off etc, stoked I didn't get stung. Was a hassle though.
This blog is dedicated to how dodgy they are:

Knock on wood, the site I ordered from was at least legit enough to send me my stuff, it just took longer than expected. I also ordered a pair of k702's from a site and I was real nervous about it but they did come. The only thing I ever got burnt on was screen protectors for my iphone where they said just cover shipping. It was like 2 dollars or something but it pisses me off on principle. Come to think of it I should demand my 2 bucks back, it was through paypal should be able to get it back. Fuck those cocksuckers.

Yeah fuck em all. Lucky thing for me was I paid with my credit card. If you tell Visa someone is fucking with you they actually fuck shit up on your behalf. When I was in Laos a couple of years ago an ATM stole like $200 bucks out of my account (took the money out without giving me cash back - apparently it had 'ran out'). Went to the Laos bank and they just fobbed me off about the central bank, yes I'd get my money back, had to go through the system etc. Left and came home to NZ without my money. Told Visa and they sorted it out for me, took three months to get my coin but got it in the end.
