I have a good intro set up, then when i go to do the drop, and it drops, it doesnt sound like it just dropped... its not full. how would i fill that shit up!

do you have an example??

it is basically all about your creativity.. but there are certain techniques that help!

- Pan
- Short delays
- Reverb
- Give each element its own space in the frequency spectrum


That's the best I can do with a such a vague question.

White noise rises, big thick kick drums laced with reverb and delay on the very first hit of the first bar of the drop, a sample of a breath, on the very first hit of the first bar of the drop, layering, stereo imaging, maybe put a filter on your tune during the intro and slowly have it come off as you move towards the drop, use a thicker kick during your drop than during the rest of the tune, don't drop your sub into the mix until the drop hits - there's lots of things you can do really.

again, vague question, but that's my contribution.

Raise the DB level on your mix when the drop plays and lower it during the other sections?
Cut all instruments right after the last snare before the drop to add a few moments of silence?

U should really post a clip of ur track so we can analyze it.

compose a solid bassline

You can make next to nothing sound huge with little more then solid sound selection, good stereo imaging, and solid mixdowns.

IDK why people do this to master volume though. So much more effective to jsut hold your drums or w/e down and then let them rise a few db. And plus, wont be as big a pain in the neck for your mastering engineers and djs.

Solid advice here, I like to push that limit though. 2 bars where everythings revering away, and then 2 of pure silence. Something like that idk. Ever watch someone play Jakes - Modem live? Its mad tension while there waiting that silence out!

Really though, both of those will help make your drops hit harder then tyson... but not really fill anything up, which I tihnk is hat hes getting at here.

Other then that,sounds like your biggest prolem is mixdowns man, not that hard, get on it!

get that right and you'll be ... its harder than it ahhh... sounds

Put it on side by side with your favorite dubstep artist. If, when you switch to your tune, it sounds ridiculously better, you need to train your ears to whatever speakers you use more, all Im saying.
