I was thinking back to other day to my first Dubstep rave proper, Filthy Dub

Got some video footage somewhere on a hard drive.
We're goin to get it rolling again after the summer - just need to find the right venue with the right sound system.

Old Skool...tis a shame we ran out of money back in the day - we 'was' cursed by crap venues and difficult club bosses haha
Big up all the people with long memories...the guys that played at our 3 nights back in the day are heavyweights nowadays on the scene - fun times handing out flyers in the rain and making off key Rinse adverts with the legend that is N-Type.

"Techstep"
What we used to refer to stuff which sat between grime and dubstep - Oh we did love a bit of genre pigeon holing back then!!!!
Now pretty much all dubstep sounds like what would have been referred to as "techstep" by us lot back then!! All the LFO wobbly stuff for sure!!
I've got the original 2 flyers on my portable drive - I've also got the recordings on minidisc somewhere. And a short video clip.
The first one was sick! A good 300 - 400 turned out in Croydon at a time where the only night like it was FWD once a month in Shoreditch when we would get turnouts of around 100 - 150.
Used to love doing all the flyering and shit - got to know half of Croydon doing it. We'll have to get back on it after the summer - just need to find a suitable venue.

We've always talked about doing another one, we haven't got the excuse of uni and college now either.
Like the Plastic one says finding the right venue (at the right price!) can be the tricky part and was definitely the reason that stopped us in our tracks a few years back. Feel free to throw some recommendations up, Plastic People-esque would be perfect i.e. 100-300 capacity, nice system, good travel links (Brixton Hill and Croydon in hindsight probably not the best locations!)
