Very new.

I just picked up reason 5, fruity loops, and audacity....I'm trying to sample music to make my own remix...I'm just having trouble loading a certain song so I can start working with it because it's not a certain file type.....

As of right now, all I want to do is open a certain song as a project and start playing around to try and attempt a remix...

1. Which program is great for opening a full song in any format and then being able to save it in another format for a program like reason? (I had one by microsoft awhile ago, but can't remember the name.)

Thanks in advance.

.mp3 that's the only version of this song I can find. I tried loading it into audacity and it just did about a 1.5 second bit, not the whole song in its entirety.

Sound forge worked great. Now, I just have to learn how to extract the particular sounds I want. Much thanks.

Did you install LAME, so audacity can properly handle mp3s?

You could just open it in Fruity?

You know attempting a remix is very bold for a newbie..

Open FL

Chennels > Add One > Audio Clip > Click the little picture of a folder too load.

If you cant see the waveform!

Make sure audio clip is selected in the step sequencer, click soemwhere on the playlist too add it in... theres a little dropdown menu at the top of audio clips in the playlist, one of the options is edit sample, this will Edison it for waveform view when streaming from disc.
