HOW TO FIX LIVIN DIFFERENT

after months i found out how to make it not skip so hard that its unplayable!

if your deck cant play it, you have to adjust the counter weight to make the needle SO LIGHT that its almost flying upwards, then youll just about get away with playing it, but the quality might be a little bit weird, nothing major though.

good luck!

It varies from needle to needle, arm to arm etc. There's usually documentation that comes with your needle that tells you how much weight to apply.
Most people don't understand how much of a science it is.

ive never had a problem with it?
as the guy said above, as long as you got your needles set up properly then you shouldnt have a problem.

This thread should be renamed as "how to fix your turntable/needle" as there is nothing wrong with Livin different, wonderful tune, high quality piece of vinyl.

Agree with quidz : Thread needs to be "how to set up your needle and arm weight correctly. I've never had a problem playing that tune on either of my 3 decks, all different brands btw, or my partners 1200's... I thought we figured this out a long time ago in the main thread?

there is an issue with 'Livin' Different'...whether people choose to accept that fact or not is another matter...

it is the only tune in my entire collection that i have to adjust the needle weight for...that is not right...people who come on here and boldly claim there is no problem whatsoever and say others are ignorant about the science of needle weight really annoy me tbh...basically you guys are saying that the thousands of other tunes/pressings i own are wrong and that 1 tune on a 6 track EP is correct...just the fact that the other 5 tunes on the same release are problem free speaks volumes...

it depends how you have your decks/needles set up...my mate has his set up for scratching...'Livin' Different' skipped on his set up but none of the other 5 tracks did and no other tunes in his or my collection did (yes we tested all of them...sad i know... haha...)...he adjusted the weight (made it lighter) and 'Livin' Different' played through fine...so you have to make allowances for one tune out of thousands and there is apparently nothing wrong with that...no issue whatsoever...?!?!

nobody is questioning how dope the tune is...but there is a fault...there are ways round it...but there is a fault...

Some people have issues with their copy. Others don't. Not all the copies are identical.

I know I have to lighten mine before I play it, or it'll skip
