I stupidly lost my babies (Sennheiser HD 25's) in a drunken stupor a few months back and its time to replace them.

However, this time I'm on a tight budget coz I'm travelling the world. I need some low/mid range price but good quality phones. Not too chunky as I'd like to be able to use them for my ipod as well and they also need to go around with me and my rucksack for a whole year. I'm planning to play out in clubs when I'm travelling so I'm after some good quality phones that can take a hit or two. I also need to mix with ER15 earplugs stuck in so any that work well with those is also a bonus.

Any tips or suggestions or links please?

sennhesier hd 215s mate... bit chunky but, as they say... no bass from a 1 inch speaker lol!!!... but good mid range price... and stunning sound!

I picked up a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50's, using both @ home & playing out.
Crisp sound, low lows, and plenty loud. The one thing I will say about them is they have a break-in period; the lows really shine after +/- 50hr break-in.
At home I actually keep my headphones gain at about 3/4 cus these are so loud. They also bump great off iPhones/iPods. Very comfortable. I'm in love.

sennheiser hd 25 is what i use at home and play out with.. ultra light and comfy.. almost everything is replaceable.. love em

Thanks guys but I think I might go for one of these new Pioneer DJ range...proabably the steel wheels or the Loop. They look the biz and have got good online reviews for sound. They fold up (perfect for packing in my bag). Not too chunky either.

Well if they are built anything like the HDJ -1000's - looks like you'll be buying new headphones in about a month. Honestly you should just pick up a another pair of Sennheiser's. Like Lidsjunky said - the 25's have replaceable parts and the sound is ridiculously good.

Yeah but he didn't read my first post to see that I'm replacing my pair of HD25's and I can't afford a new pair. I wish I could...they were amazing cans I know!

However, scrap my previous post I have found a really nice replacement. These seem like the shit. Been looking at lots of audiophile forum reviews and everyone seems to rate them very highly for their price. They're perfect for my requirements too: Not too big (plus they fold up), good for DJ'ing and ipod, well built, good alround sound, look the biz too
