THOSE DRUMS
HOW!?
i'm the same, but the 5minutes i once spent with a tracker made it obvious how much easier to do those crazy drum patterns it is.paravrais wrote:I need the proper visual layout with the blocks to get my head around it.
very well done?legend4ry wrote:Those drums ain't that complicated, just very well done. Work with breaks and stuffs...
i like writing my drums complicated, and the process got about 1000x faster when i switched to renoise. You gotta reprogram your mind a bit but it does totally make a ridiculous amount of sense once you get your head around it.paravrais wrote:People always say trackers are better for drums but I just don't get it personally. Sounds to me like a few live drummer loops with the hi hats/hi end stuff and a few drums from other kits over the top. There is a real bd and snare that has been layered but they dont have the 'real' feel because they are samples and each hit sounds exactly the same. The snare sounds terribly out of place with the rest of the drums:/mooseforyebs wrote:

Ok, I have said it before and Ill say it again. V Snares is one of the most overrated producers going. Breakcore is the worst style of music going and tends to be made by pretentious geeksHurtdeer wrote:also snares owns, that may not have been the best example of his ridiculously complicated drums though, legend4ry. check it:
when i used to cut up breaks in logic, it meant making absolutely sure i was using the right break (to save myself an hour), cutting it up carefully, bouncing, reloading into the sampler, setting the reversed and pitched variations ahead of time incase i wanted to use them later, heavily processing to make them sound clean again, and then spending ages in hyperdraw setting the note input up until i could finally get going. By this point I've usually forgotten my original plan.MineOurArc wrote:I also work in a tracker (Buzz which is also free!). I fail to see how it's quicker? Maybe (probably) ReNoise is a better program than Buzz but I find ableton to be so much quicker to do anything. I like to layer my drums up so I have a few instances of differents drums running. To do this on a tracker is a lot more work than Ableton.
I don't use a tracker for speed. I use it coz I'm a quirky little fucker!
hahaha if you say so serox. I like it not because I want to seem pretentious, but because it sounds good to me. it's also not random at all, and got a lot of groove- though the first time I heard it, I'd probably agree with you. The fact it's in 7/4 and about 200bpm makes it seem like a bunch of random sounds to people who aren't really that familiar with itserox wrote:Ok, I have said it before and Ill say it again. So many of them are trying to push things forward with what they are doing they have lost touch with it all. Its gone up its arse.
What is complicated about this?! its drums placed all over the place. There is no groove, its just random shit played at the wrong speed with terrible movie samples over it. CRINGE
such an ignorant and angry little manserox wrote:Ok, I have said it before and Ill say it again. V Snares is one of the most overrated producers going. Not sure which groove ur picking up at 7/4 200bpm but I cannot find any:D Everyone I know who likes VS is geeky and into whatever cool bands are in the charts right now at the weekends. I used to have this beef (and seen it a 100 times on many forums) with quite a few friends. Guess what, they also got into Datsik this year tooHurtdeer wrote: hahaha if you say so serox. I would have put money on it you liked VS. Do you like Coldplay and Radiohead too?deadly habit wrote:such an ignorant and angry little man
yes, i listen to all sorts of styles and music with very broad tasteserox wrote:I would have put money on it you liked VS. Do you like Coldplay and Radiohead too?deadly habit wrote:such an ignorant and angry little man
the groove seems really obvious to me man. Just tap your hands to the drums four times, then three times, then four times, then three times, etc. Also I'm not really into Datsik at all but tbh you won't see my railing against the guy's music either. I don't even think the fact people may like both is at all relevantserox wrote:Not sure which groove ur picking up at 7/4 200bpm but I cannot find any:D Everyone I know who likes VS is geeky and into whatever cool bands are in the charts right now at the weekends. Sounds too experimental for me. I am not new to VS btw.
I got no beef with datsik, its to do with all the people trying to copy his sound.deadly habit wrote:yes, i listen to all sorts of styles and music with very broad taste
and love how you're bashing datsik but trying to recreate the same sound when kryptic minds and youngsta used it in that other thread
like i said you just seem very ignorant and angry about anything not in your little tunnel vision of what music is
