Getting started

Okay so I've been listening to Dubstep for quite sometime and i wanna start producing it. Right now, i'm broke as fuck so i dont have any hardware but when i get money i'm gonna pick some up. For now i'm using my mac. Are there any good programs i can use to make it from my comp? and what should i know before i get started at producing?

Logic, you dont need hardware.

Its really hard and takes a very long time. Expect to lose all your friends, and unless you've already got a girl that loves you, theyll be gone too.

haha basic a has it right.. but you might gain some friends in the process.. and they'll probably be nerds. might want to ask this question in the production forum.. or just read threads there, this has been covered
