You have to wonder how involved Goldie was in the kid's upbringing: I'd guess that he wasn't around much.
Stabbing a disabled man - it's hard to get much lower than that.

I wonder if Goldie will visit his son in the clink. Goldie himself had a messed up raising. Goldie wrote Mother as an inspiration from the reconnection with his mother. Could be possible that another emotional tune could be made out of this.

This is the most intelligent thought you've ever had.

Sucks for the family of both involved, but something like that can't go without punishment.
A "friend" of mine got 26 years for armed robbery a couple of years ago, so 21 years for murder seems like he got off pretty light.
Friend is in quotes as he was the roommate of an actual friend of mine, so maybe acquaintance is more fitting. Plus he was a dick.

sad story. as a parent (i am) this is one of your worst nightmares. to love someone unconditionally but also know they deserved what they got... the kid took someone else's life. sad.

Goldie was not in court, but has said in the past that “I tried to give him opportunities; I told him that I’d pay for anything he wanted to do. But he went the other way.”
That's right, throw money at your kid and it'll be alright.

so what, if you've got money you shouldn't help your kids out? plenty of people grow up in privileged families and don't turn out to be stnuc. all he's saying is that he wanted to give his child as many opportunities as possible...

I don't think Goldie should be blamed here, it sounds as if he thought of his son's best interests-some people just don't listen no matter how much advice you give them though,
