And the second half of your song is identical to your first, without even one change in the sample, melody, or synth, then you deserve to die. That is all

The trend of identical second drops is the reason a large chunk of DJs do 1 drop mixing.

not really, nothing worse than a tune that goes..

intro with some swooshing soundeffect..

that gay kick build up to the drop that all the generic dubstep artists do..

drop..

& repeat all over again but with drums over the bit they used as the intro..

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's down to lack of innovation or simply dearth of talent. Sometimes repetition is what a tune needs.

More complex = better isn't universally applicable tbh.

I understand where you are coming from, but there are plenty of tunes which do this and are still good songs

there are no rules

some tunes work and others dont

loefahs tunes are minimal

minimal tends to win as far as my thinking takes me,
messy tunes put me in an undesirable state of mind, keep the drums clean and the bass mean.

peace

i wish all dubstep producers took that into account when producing, but no

agreed. sometimes everything is fine as is. if you don't like the second drop, don't use it. i can't see why anyone would be bothered about how another artist chooses to create their music, but everyone had their peeves i suppose

some tunes could not even have a second drop :o
