I've heard a preset on a synth pretty similar...

2 options:

a) Electric guitar, fairly high distortion, phaser/filters/eq/chorus with reverb/delay to taste
b) Standard reese bass, higher octaves, again phaser/filter/eq/chorus with reverb and delay

my guess anyway, you could deffo get something similar with a reese in high octaves

There are soooo many ways that this can be achieved. Most synths can pull this off. You want a combination of distortion, high-octave notes, and resonance. Then play with some automation to give it movement, a little reverb and you're good to go.

What a track, Distance makes some of the best Synths/Baselines IMO. The ideas put forward seem fairly reasonable, some form of distorted guitar sample sounds about right. Tried to replicate a similar sound numerous times myself.
