So i was thinking of a better way people could give/receive feedback on tunes rather than the feedback threads, as they have pretty much turned into a place for people to just dump tunes and expect feedback without giving any in the first place.
My idea was that we gather a list of soundcloud users who are wanting to take part (just post soundcloud link in thread to have it added). People can then post feedback on these peoples tunes from the list starting with "FB-" (for feedback) then the person can give feedback back to the person who commented on their tune, so to recivce feedback you need to give it.
Any thoughts on this? is it flawed/not needed?

I always look forward to some feedback... but never really get it cuz ppl usually just drop there tracks there and it kinda floods the page if you know what i mean

good idea, i was thinking of a WIP soundcloud channel called DSFWIPS/DSFFINISHED with a drop box that people can just flick through the channel and just post thoughts on each of them.
tracks only stay on it for 5 - 10 days (?)which will give the tunes enough time to be given feedback but also enough time to keep the 150 free minutes you have on soundcloud without it going over the cap?
the person moderating the channel will only accept the tunes from people who have posted feedback (more than 1 line?) on a few(2+) of the current tracks on the channel.
this way shit keeps rolling and you WILL get feedback?
this could work i reckon, just needs to be done by dsf mods etc

Im actually in the working of a website/forum/community that rewards giving feedback on work in progress/finished tracks, purely based on that.

You guys think this is a good idea?

i do this everytime but i do post my feedback the next day. im almost never at home so usually it has to wait till the morning

i don't post in the feedback section anymore.

must be misunderstanding something

You can check out my forum, it's only recently been made, so it's only a small community, so feedback is pretty consistent. I'm trying to build a community of people who will give good advice, and be constructive.

i suppose a website/forum for just feedback could work... just seems a lot of hassle when people use Soundcloud anyway, so why not work with what we have got?
So are people willing to get this going? it will only work if people want it to

haha no, you dont have to do anything, just upload tracks and give feedback, the more feedback you give, the more feedback you receive(by automaticly topping your post for example) and the top 3 users who give the most feedback, and the most useful feedback each month, the website will pay for that person to get promotion on the website/have his track released for free on itunes etc/free artwork done, things like that.. so giving good feedback is rewarded and maybe itll create a good circle of feedback? lol I like the idea and been working on it for awhile, seems like i miss a place for pure feedback of producers on my WIP.

It's pretty simple actually - just don't give feedback to those who are trying to jump the queue and/or haven't read the rules for the thread. A few of us are starting to do this, jump on board and give em hell if they're looking for a quick fix.

I have a query:

I uploaded a track 2 days ago and for the first time ever it didn't give me an option for the genre, just tag words. Did the genre feature get removed? All my old tracks still have their genres. Is there a way to add this?
