"Bass music has always been a part of North American music culture. More often than not, this music has existed in regional pockets with Miami Bass, Baltimore Club, and Chicago Juke as prime examples. In the past few years, the globalization of dubstep has genuinely changed the current landscape of worldwide bass music. Today, we find ourselves in a melting pot of styles, where tonal and textural commonalities exist outside of distinct regions. From NYC to Los Angeles, from Austin to Montreal, there is a common denominator that is uniting people across the continent and across the world. We call this BASS music.
The Future Sounds of North America compilation was created to promote these recent advances in bass music, and specifically, to showcase North American producers. This compilation features rising superstars in future of bass music: Distal, Atlantic Connection, Cosmic Revenge, Kid Aloha, Clicks & Whistles, DJ Apt One, Buckmaster, B. Laing, Norrit, Skinny Friedman, DubCHI, Bardeenz, and Manikan. The release ranges from spaced out funky to full-on tropical club bangers."
