sidechaining massive to ES2 in Logic

Ok so I'm using massive for my mid-range and ES2 for my sub, and I want them to wobble in sync, but I'm using a pretty complex pattern in massive, and it would require a ton of effort to recreate it with ES2. I tried running massive to a bus and using it as the sidechain source in the routing matrix in the ES2, setting amp as the destination. Nothing. So I tried the filter cutoff as the destination. Nothing. When I use one of ES2's LFO's as the "via" source, the volume/cutoff modulates based on the LFO rate, but it seems to have nothing to do with the sidechain input that is supposed to be controlling it.
Before you say it, yes, I went to the top right corner of ES2 and set the massive bus to sidechain.
Am I making too much trouble for myself? Should I just use another instance of massive for my sub? It takes up too much CPU.
Are there other ways of sidechaining massive w/in Logic? This is one of the reasons I liked Reason, all the control you can have with CV ins and outs, but it's just not versatile enough.

I know it sounds like a bit of a bitch, but couldnt you just duplicate the instance of massive, strip the patch down to just a sine wave and the lfo automation, route the lfo's from cutoff too volume, and then resample that too save memory? I know you said it takes uptoo much CPU, but using sidechaining here is gonna yeild less then perfect results no matter how you look at it...

Yeah I'm thinking that's the route I'll probably go, I just hate resampling this early in the process of making a track, so I was interested to see if someone knew something that I didn't

You could try to key in the sub using a gate, having massive going to a bus and having that bus as the sidechain for the gate. Then set the threshold of the gate to an amount that allows it to open and close with the bass. If the bass is midi, you could copy the midi notes and use a sinewave patch.
Would work, but it might sound pretty static.
Edit: Forgot to say the gate is on the sub track.

Are you using all your OSCs for your Mid bass in Massive, and both filters?
The reason i ask is because you could use the Bypass function and create your Sub on the spare OSC.
Also - if it's using too much CPU you there is a few ways to fix that.

I would do what basic has offered.
Edit: i was wrong about using SC as an oscilator.

I did however Manage to make my sine sub wobble to the SC input. I routed it to the amp, and then turned the cutoff right down on the es2. Hear it? ask if you want the logic file (logic 9.1)

my idea: don't play unison wobbles in the sub
But thats just a stylistic thing... i like meshing mid with a sub that's subtle and pedaltoning the root, less linear and more full.
