i'm not a fan of loads of people's music, i'm not going to wish them ill in their day to day life because they are pursuing a career and direction different than my subjective tastes (and enjoying themselves and being successful)
hell i'd work with pop acts in a heart beat as it offers more $ for more gear, bigger exposure and would allow me more time to work on my own experimental stuff and polish my sound

dont think bs wanted him to do dubstep for her... presumably A&R looked at his career and assumed he's quick at picking up new production techniques and retained him on the basis of that...
