unless u like the tearout stuff theres not much that brum has to offer, although u do get the odd decent booking every now and then, i believe mount kimbie were here not so long ago, brackles n dbridge played last month, also youngsta seems to get booked fairly often. u just hav to keep ur ear to the ground, decent nights come round eventualy :)

when things arent going the way you want them in your city. DO IT YOURSELF. real talk!! any way possible, just help make it happen!! theres gotta be smalltime DJ's around that play that style, or people who usually play tearout that want to play that style. posting on DSF is the first step in finding out!

Don't think the demand for this sort of dubstep in Birmingham is too great, mate. You've got Substep @ Subway City every first Saturday of the month but they normally play the hype tunes that pulls the crowd. I'm part of a little dubstep night that started in Rugeley on Friday. Very small venue but I opened up with some SP:MC, LX One, Jack Sparrow, Icicle, etc ... but it just wan't getting the crowd moving so resorted to Coki instead. I do normally include some Clubroot and Phaeleh in there but again, the appreciation for it is limited.

No offense mate but you know shit all about birmingham so don't come on here and try and tell us who have tried to get the scene moving here for years how its going down. Its not a simple matter of 'just put on a night and don't worry bout turn outs' its a lot of time effort and money to do this, plus all the politics of finding a decent venue (with a decent soundsystem) that will host your night that will almost certainly die. The simple fact of the matter is that in this city there just aint enough people into the sound.

Like I say tho, the next resistance will be soon. We'll keep plugging away.

Wooda what you say is probably true but I don't think you should take what -boring said personally. His attitude is admirable, if a bit idealistic!
