I never learnt to produce so really shouldn't have a right to criticise the dubs in, no surprises here, the dubs forum.
Having said this, I am having so much fun adding my insight to some of the toss posted in there, you guys should try it so much fun being a bastard.

In my defence, I have been a dj for over 6 years now so think I have a fairly good perspective on bass music, I feel I know enough about what works and what doesn't to be able to provide criticism on tracks.
At the end of the day it's all subjective anyway so who cares?

Check out the dubs forum and find something shit, criticise it like an elitist and reep the feel good factor you get from doing it

Simon Cowl eat your heart out. I do agree about all of them you commented on, that is why I don't bother going near that part of the forum.

give it a try, honestly a lot of fun. The ammount of tunes arround these days with that awful "YOY" bass is incredible, it is a huge cliche and people are still pumping it out. Reminds me of the rise and death of the reis.

I don't DJ but I still think they're just posers with fancy equipment

that's like saying you can't complain about shitty food in a restaurant just because you're not a chef. everybody is allowed to have an opinion on music. if you post your stuff online be prepared to get butchered!

I haven't been there in ages and probably won't go back for a while, all I can see is FILTH, HEAVY, DIRTY...

And seriously... Thugstep ?!?

I think that picking specific points that are bad and being at least a little constructive would be better than just stretched out smart arse versions of "this is shit"

it's indeed a bit a pain... i posted few days back a tune for the second time. and for the second time i got not one respond...

oh well.. just not the place to be

it's actually quite hilarious in there. long before i registered here i thought the dubs forum was irritating, but i eventually did post a couple tunes in there....the only response i got was from some guy who said i should fix the (actual intended) clipping at the beginning of my tune...and then he went on to admit he didnt listen to the entire song

i've learned my lesson....gonna keep my shit to myself for the time being...it's just the internet at the end of the day eh?

but going into the dub section about an hour ago and listening to whatever tune snypadub and someone else responded to = hahahahahahahahaha

Shame it's such a mess really, still hoping for some replys to my thread though.
